Chapter 85 - The Destructive Fairy of Fairy Tail

The Destructive Fairy of Fairy Tail

Lucy Heartfilia walked briskly through Hargeon, one of the largest and busiest trading cities in Fiore. The air was thick with the scent of spices, street music, and the constant murmur of a bustling crowd. As she strolled, her ears caught a name that made her freeze in place.

"Salamander… from Fairy Tail?" she whispered, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

Following the source of the rumors, she stumbled upon a crowd of women gathered in an alley. Curious, she peeked in.

At the center of the commotion stood a blue-haired young man wearing sunglasses and flashing a cocky smile, tossing flirtatious glances like magic spells. The girls around him swooned, hearts in their eyes, and Lucy felt her heart beat faster without even realizing it.

"He's so handsome…" she murmured, dazed.

But then"

A voice, cold as steel, sliced through the air.

"You're in my way."

The voice wasn't loud, but its sheer authority made the atmosphere tremble. Instantly, as if a spell had been broken, all the women"including Lucy"blinked in confusion and stepped away from "Salamander" like they had just awakened from a trance. The hearts in their eyes practically shattered like glass.

From the other side of the crowd emerged a young woman with short dark brown hair down to her shoulders, clad in a modest yet elegant battle uniform. Her presence was as beautiful as it was terrifying"like a war goddess descending from the heavens in high heels.

"Oh, I must apologize, gorgeous lady," said the self-proclaimed Salamander with a sleazy grin, clearly undeterred. "How about I take you to dinner tonight? A peace offering."

She looked at him with the same affection one might reserve for a cockroach.

"I'm not interested in men."

Her voice was so sharp that a chorus of "Oooh!" erupted from the girls behind her.

Without giving him time to respond, she raised her hand and pointed at the rings on both his fingers. Instantly, they shattered like cheap glass ornaments.

"Using enchanted rings to manipulate others is illegal," she added sternly.

The fake Salamander stared at his hands in shock, as if he couldn't believe his cheap trick had been exposed.

"I... uh... gotta... go!"

He turned to flee, but all he found was a fist slamming into his gut. He flew several meters into the air and hit the ground with a comical thud, drool leaking from his mouth.

The woman calmly shook her hand and glanced at the pink-haired boy and the blue cat beside her"both visibly terrified.

"You two," she said, pointing at them with unwavering authority. "Take him to the guards. Tell them to check his ship at the dock. Do that, and I'll forgive you for destroying that house this morning. But if I catch you doing anything illegal again… the next beating comes with interest."

"Aye, sir!" Natsu and Happy responded in unison, hauling the fake Salamander like a sack of potatoes and disappearing as fast as humanly possible.

"And then they wonder why people say our guild is illegal…" she muttered, crossing her arms. "Though, to be fair, I'm the one who says it the most."

She then turned her gaze toward Lucy and offered a faint, almost mischievous smile.

Just as she turned to leave, Lucy ran after her.

"Wait!"

The young woman stopped, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes?"

"I'm Lucy. And… I just wanted to thank you. Thanks to you, I didn't fall for that bastard's spell."

"No need to thank me. I was just passing through." She waved it off casually.

"Still, I'd like to treat you to lunch to show my appreciation. If that's alright with you."

The girl looked at her for a moment, then nodded with a small smile.

"Sure. I accept."

"--------

Later, at an upscale restaurant near the harbor…

Both ate in silence for a while. Lucy eventually broke the ice.

"By the way… you never told me your name."

"Kara," the young woman replied, slicing her steak with such precision and elegance that any chef would weep with pride.

"So, Kara… You're a mage, right? What kind of magic did you use back there?"

"It's called Crash Magic. My father taught it to me," she said with a serene smile.

Lucy looked at her, fascinated.

"Whoa! That sounds insanely powerful! I'm a mage too, by the way. I use Celestial Spirit Magic."

"Spirit Magic… That's pretty rare," Kara replied, now studying her with renewed interest.

"Yup! My mom used it too. I even have some golden keys." Lucy pulled one out proudly. "I'm heading to Fairy Tail to try and join. Do you know it?"

"Fairy Tail? That nut house?" Kara asked with a teasing smile, resting her chin in her hand.

"Hey! Don't say that! The newspapers exaggerate! They're the strongest guild in Fiore! And they have four Dragon Slayers! Plus… she's there."

"She?"

"The Destructive Fairy!" Lucy exclaimed, eyes sparkling.

Kara blinked. Then smiled.

"The… what now?"

"I'm her number one fan! I follow all her exploits! Like when she took down fourteen dark guilds to avenge a friend, or when she challenged one of the Ten Wizard Saints who was abusing his power! No one's ever seen her face, but they say she's so beautiful the camera can't capture her. Like a goddess…"

"A goddess, huh?" Kara echoed with a mischievous grin, clearly amused.

Lucy glanced at her watch.

"Oh no! I'm gonna miss my train to Magnolia! It was great talking to you, Kara."

"It was… informative," Kara replied, wearing an enigmatic expression as she followed Lucy out.

.....

Just as they left the restaurant, an explosion shook the port. Flames shot into the air, and the blast made nearby windows rattle. Civilian screams filled the area.

"That came from the dock!" shouted Lucy, running without hesitation. "We have to stop them before someone gets hurt!"

"Yeah... I'm not going to sit around and do nothing," said Kara, wrapping herself in a mana aura before launching herself powerfully onto the rooftops, like a shadow racing through the night.

When Lucy arrived at the scene, she found Natsu collapsed on the ground with a massive bump on his head. Next to him, Happy was pointing at him with an accusatory expression.

"I told you not to blow up the dock, you birdbrain!"

Kara, arms crossed, had sparks of fury flashing in her eyes.

"Can't you have ONE fight without setting half the city on fire?!" she shouted.

Natsu raised a trembling finger.

"Can I say it was self-defense?"

Kara raised her fist.

"Natsu said he'd be forgiven if he found the bad guys and not just the boss!" Happy exclaimed desperately, flailing his blue paws and pointing at the chaos around them. "I was just swept up by fate!"

Kara shot him a deadly glare.

"Shut up! You're grounded. No fish for a week."

"W-WHAT?! That's inhuman!" Happy wailed as if he had just lost his soul.

"And Natsu… will have to accept punishment number three," Kara added, narrowing her eyes at the unconscious Dragon Slayer.

"K-Kara… are you okay?" Lucy asked with concern, quickly approaching her.

"I'm fine. Just that this idiot almost set half the city on fire," Kara replied, bringing a hand to her forehead in exasperation. "Again."

"Kara! The military's coming!" warned Happy, floating like a flying siren.

"Tsk… I don't have time to explain everything again. Let's run!"

Without hesitation, Kara grabbed Natsu by the foot like a sack of potatoes, hoisted him over her shoulder, then, without warning, grabbed Lucy by the waist and lifted her effortlessly.

"W-WAIT, WHY ME?!" Lucy shouted, kicking wildly, her face completely red from embarrassment.

"Well… after all those stories you told about me, like you were declaring eternal love…" said Kara with a teasing smile as she leaped over rooftops. "And you said you wanted to join Fairy Tail, right?"

"Y-Yeah, but""

"Who better to invite you than Kara, the Destructive Fairy?"

"Y-You were her?!" Lucy shouted, both surprised and a little embarrassed to realize she'd been fangirling over her right to her face without recognizing her.

The image was chaotic yet glorious: a powerful mage leaping between rooftops, a knocked-out Dragon Slayer hanging from her shoulder, a new recruit kidnapped courtesy of adrenaline, and a flying cat who just wanted to eat fish.

...….

"Welcome to Fairy Tail," said Kara calmly, pushing open the guild's great doors with one hand as if opening the gates of Valhalla itself.

Behind her, Lucy, Natsu, and Happy followed with silent respect. Well, at least Happy walked with dignity… Natsu trembled as if about to face an angry dragon. Upon entering, the guild's chatter stopped all at once.

All eyes turned toward them. A dramatic pause. A moment of silence... and then:

"Oh, Kara! Welcome back. Finished your mission?" Cana asked, raising her barrel like a toast.

"Yep. I ran into Natsu and Happy on the way… and by the way, Natsu earned punishment number three," Kara said with a calm smile, waving at her sister.

"What?!" everyone shouted in unison. Then, like a wave, laughter and teasing exploded, all aimed at the poor Dragon Slayer.

"W-What's punishment number three?" asked Lucy, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

"He has to dress as a maid… and clean the entire guild," Kara replied with a smile as cruel as it was amused.

"W-WHAT?!" Lucy was paralyzed. Her mind already pictured Natsu in pigtails, an apron, and holding a feather duster. Her expression was a mix of horror and fascination.

"We implemented a punishment system to stop the idiots from destroying the guild," Kara explained as if talking about the weather. "There are ten levels. The first is cleaning the bathrooms. The tenth… better not to know if you want to sleep peacefully."

That said, she walked to the bar.

"Master, I brought a new member," she announced with the casualness of someone delivering a pizza.

"Oh! Kara, did you kidnap someone again? Well done," said Makarov with a mischievous grin.

"Don't say that! People will get the wrong idea!" Kara immediately protested.

"But you did kidnap Sting and Rogue, right?" the master added playfully. "And let's not forget when you snatched innocent little Wendy when she was just a kid…"

"Technically, I saved them! They'd all lost their parents! And being here together is the best thing, isn't it?" Kara shot back quickly, crossing her arms.

A few years ago, a young Natsu was annoying Kara, who then remembered something, dragged Gildarts as a forced transport, and returned days later with a small blue-haired girl, Wendy, in her arms. Then, a month later, she came back with two unconscious boys who had tried to flee and ended up beaten and recruited.

"Dragon Slayer collection," Kara had said with a smile. "Unfortunately, the last one had already joined another guild. I couldn't catch him."

Lucy gulped.

"Hey, Mira? Has Erza arrived yet?" Kara asked casually as she approached the bar.

"No. But she should be here soon," Mirajane replied with her signature smile, handing over the Fairy Tail stamp.

"Where do you want the stamp?" Kara asked, looking at Lucy.

"Eh? Isn't there some kind of test or something?" Lucy asked, surprised.

"What for?" Kara asked, genuinely confused.

"What if I were a bad person?!"

At that, Kara smiled with confidence.

"Don't worry. I've got a good eye… especially for beautiful women."

"Th-Thanks…" Lucy murmured, blushing as she pointed where she wanted the stamp.

"There she goes again," Mira commented with a smile, watching Kara's shameless flirting.

"Oh? Do I smell a little jealousy, Mira?" said Kara, winking at her.

"Maybe," the barmaid replied, returning to work without losing her smile.

Meanwhile, Lucy was admiring her new Fairy Tail stamp… until a scandal in the back of the guild caught her attention.

"AAAAAAH! I'M GOING TO BEAT YOU UNTIL YOU FORGET THIS!" screamed Natsu, dressed in a ridiculous black maid outfit with white lace, swinging punches at everyone laughing at him.

Chaos erupted. A full-on brawl worthy of a magical war broke out among flying tables, explosive spells, and mocking laughter.
