The way Malachi gazes at me is heated, yet I see the scorn beneath.
He hasn't forgiven me for what I did with Jayce. Hell, I haven't forgiven either.
We're heading for an infant baptism this morning. I met the family last night. A charming couple, having a ceremony for their first baby. A girl. The couple wasn't any older than Malachi and I. Yet, they showed such devotion. I envied them.
I wished for that with Malachi. This little peaceful coexistence with him. But I had even ruined the existing peace we had shared in the past. And now all that remains is his contempt.
"Are you ready?" Malachi asks, as he stands in front of me.
I'm distracted by how hot he looks even in this white garb he's got on.
"I am." I finally manage, when I can catch my breath again.
He's got a few buttons off, exposing some skin. Silence lingers for a few seconds, and it grows uncomfortable especially with Malachi's intense gaze on me.
