Immortal.
Yin Weiyin often recalls a story from this word.
Late autumn in the Capital City, the Emperor hears the sound of temple bells and remembers a beloved deceased concubine, overwhelmed with grief... He orders the palace attendants to fetch her old clothes to hang, fasting day and night, crying silently only when the attendants plead with him. Hidden in the shadows, an Immortal sees this, saying: "Just one person has died, why be so sad?"
... After several times, often revisiting this story, each time feeling deeply moved, his Taoist Heart growing ever more resolute.
Chen Yi holds her and speaks those startling words, Yin Weiyin recalls this story, or rather the traces of past words gliding across the corner of her Heart Lake; her heart more so a gathering of intricate, dense clouds suddenly unfolding, both surprised and delighted, yet somewhat melancholic.
