"Teacher, are you back?"
Little Annie stood at the doorway, holding Frankenstein's rag doll in her arms, its button-like eyes spinning unconsciously, seeming more lively than last time.
"Not asleep again?" Lynch walked over and gently brushed the stardust off the tips of her hair. The shimmering particles instantly turned into dancing lights, swirling around Annie and floating out the window with the night breeze.
Annie stuck out her tongue, "I did sleep, but when I heard movement in your room, I guessed it was you returning and got up specially."
"I just wanted to see you, and now that I have, I'll go back to sleep."
She smiled sweetly, genuinely happy, and said goodbye as she picked up Frankenstein and headed out.
"Wait a minute!"
However, Lynch stopped her just then.
