Chapter 11 - Start of leakage

It was not a very difficult thing to do, Cassiel had had time to analyze the seal in his head. immediately, when he saw it, he understood how it worked.

The magic of this world worked much the same as in him previous life, and together with what he had learned during this period, he was able to decipher its structure.

It was a seal created with dark, non-elemental runes. Although Cassiel was a fire mage, it did not mean that he did not know how to use other elements and types of magic.

He just specialized in this element because of his natural talent and affinity, because every thing he did was at least five bese more efficient with this element.

But his knowledge and ability with other magics were still above average, and after some time of analysis, of this seal that was more of a curse, he understood that he could destroy it without any problem.

Also, the seal seemed to have no relation to the ability to make the beasts smarter, which was good for his plan.

The only problem was.

'Those fuckers embedded it in my brain!'

When Cassiel realized that he had not only had it placed in his skin, but that at some point the researchers had opened his head and embedded it directly into his brain, he understood why the excruciating pain originated there.

'well now all that's left is for me to...'

Click!.

"It's time. Come out."

Right on cue, they came to fetch him. Cassiel followed them obediently.

..

As every day, Cassiel found himself in front of the investigators and knights who were giving the instructions for the round.

It was at that moment, without paying attention to them, that he began to move his mana. From his heart, the mana slowly ascended in the direction of his head.

As soon as it came into contact with the curse, Cassiel could perceive it clearly. From the outside it was invisible, but his senses saw it as a circle with several symbols inside (runes).

With millimeter precision, his mana carefully surrounded the seal without touching it. Then, his will went into action.

Immediately, the featureless mana surrounding the seal began to burn. Cassiel moved him fire mana and brought it into contact with the circle.

He felt a sharp pain for a few moments, but him control did not waver. He was manipulating fire inside a delicate area.

He ignored as best he could the pain the curse was causing him for messing with it and held firm in accomplishing his task.

Two seconds later, the fire mana consumed the circle etched into his brain.

Now, finally, he was free.

'hahahaha!!!, let the fun begin,'

Cassiel was starting to get excited, and looked at the people who like every day were talking to each other .

It used to vary the number of investigators, but the knights accompanying them were always four. He looked through their rank and noticed that they were all rank (E) apprentice knights and with an average of one to three skills that seemed to be movements with weapons.

'Ignis Velox.'

Without waiting another second, Cassiel started with everything. he had to be swift. he used a basic fire spell and immediately six fireballs were created and flew towards their respective targets.

One of them flew towards one of the knights who was unsuspecting.

Bang!

The fireball hit him full in the face. He had no time to react. No one in the room did.

When the rest of the people turned to the source of the noise, they only saw the fallen knight.

Cassiel took advantage of that moment and went straight for the knight of rank (E+), the strongest in the room.

He circulated his fire mana through his body, strengthening himself with the Art of Primordial Flame . Not only that, he also used the skill Impulse that he gained when he ascen

In an instant, Cassiel demonstrated speed far above his level, immediately reaching the knight .

"Grrr..."

"Huh? Ughhh!"

Crack!

Cassiel jumped up and lunged straight for his neck. By the time the man reacted, he already had Cassiel's jaws digging into him. He Without hesitation, Cassiel clenched his jaw hard and tore at it.

'Ignis Sagittarius.'

The two remaining knights finally grasped the situation, but just as they tried to draw their weapons, Cassiel formed a small arrow of fire and shot it swiftly towards one of them

"ARGH!"

The fire arrow flew so fast that it didn't look like a basic fire spell. it hit his eye, and its penetrating power was so great that there was no resistance and it pierced him, ending his life instantly.

Cassiel was using his experience to the fullest and him control over spells and mana was sublime.

His Dark Thorn against the remaining knight. He deliberately aimed at his foot; it was a test.

And he confirmed it: his spells didn't interfere with his abilities, he could use them simultaneously. That was a good thing.

That would stop the last guy while he eliminated the investigators.

"W-what is this? w-why- why s-suddenly? This wasn't part of..hiiii!!!"

The last knight panicked. It had all happened too fast. He was barely an apprentice knight, this was just supposed to be an easy job.

At worst, he would have to deal with herds of beasts of rank G. In fact, yesterday was to be his last day in this position, as his superiors would come to replace him.

Research with more powerful beasts was about to begin, as one of the experiments had moved up in rank. But to curry favor with his superiors, they offered to continue in the position.

They had underestimated the situation, thinking that he was just a newly promoted creature and that knights like them, with some experience in rank E, would suffice.

Now, he deeply regretted it.

"-NOOO! Get away!"

He saw the wolf with its piercing red eyes approaching after finishing off the investigators.

He could be hallucinating, but he swore that black wolf was smiling as it tore and killed the investigators. The thought disturbed him.

Cassiel, on the other hand was a bit pleased....

'Whew~, that felt good.... There's only one left I need to be quick...'

[Area five, what's going on? The cameras stopped working. Looks like a system error. We'll send a technician. Area five, do you respond? Is everything all right?]

Suddenly, a sound came from the pocket of one of the investigators' corpses.

Cassiel immediately understood that it was a communication device. Several times he had seen the investigators talk through them.

As for the cameras, or as they called the surveillance circles.... He had taken care of them himself with his initial fireballs.

'Good, they think it's just a malfunction. That'll buy me more time.'

He ignored the device and conjured two fire arrows. He aimed them at the remaining knight, who, though his leg was paralyzed, made no attempt to move.

As if he believed that staying still would make him invisible to Cassiel's eyes.

But Cassiel remembered all the faces. He had memorized the degree of revenge he wanted to inflict.

And he remembered well how that guy had commented on how funny he looked as he writhed in pain.

One arrow pierced his forehead.

The other was aimed at the knight who had only been knocked out with the initial fireball.

If she could, Cassiel would take her time. He would enjoy the hunt more. But he couldn't waste time.

So, with a bit of resignation, he decided to finish them off quickly. Luckily, there were still many more, with whom Cassiel had even bigger grudges. This had only begun.

Cassiel now looked at the beasts, who seemed to be watching him in bewilderment. That was the reason he had to quickly finish off the investigators: they might have ordered them to attack he.

They had no loyalty, but they obeyed out of fear of punishment.

Cassiel knew that, that's why he acted quickly.

"Worrff" (Come closer).

He knew he could not escape alone. His mana was still not big enough to sustain a battle against dozens of knights and subjects with electric batons.

Besides, some scientists had a decent amount of mana which meant they were mages.

From the beginning, he had planned to use the beasts.

The creatures, not quite understanding what was going on, looked at him and then at the corpses of the researchers.

They seemed hesitant about how to proceed, but their doubts were dispelled by Cassiel's next growl.

"Wrrooof" (Follow me. Freedom, not pain).

They understood, and that was enough. The fastest was the rabbit, who came to him eagerly.

Wasting no time, Cassiel placed his paw on its head. A small strand of mana invaded the rabbit's mind, causing it to squirm slightly as the circle on its head activated.

However, it was immediately incinerated by the flames of Cassiel, who had learned to do better from his own experience.

The remaining beasts, seeing what had happened, approached. There were seven of them. Now, Cassiel was the strongest of the group, and besides his intelligence, they appreciated his strength. Especially the bear.

They all prostrated themselves and allowed Cassiel to place his paw on their heads, breaking the seal that restrained them and caused them pain.

"Woorf."  (Get ready)

Cassiel searched through the researchers' belongings. He used telekinesis magic, as it was difficult for him to search with his paws.

It was a simple spell, so the mana expenditure would not be significant as long as he did not lift heavy objects.

He found what he was looking for: an artifact that controlled the doors from which the beasts exited.

Through his observation during this time, Cassiel had understood how it worked. Without restraint, he began to open all the gates.

From all directions, numerous beasts and monsters of various types appeared, emerging rapidly, some starting fights immediately with others.

[Attention, attention. An abnormality has been detected in area five. Please respond. Explain why all gates have been opened. Suspicious behavior is registered, If you do not respond, we will send a squadron led by D-rank knights...]

"Aah!?..., I'm sorry. I was distracted by the investigation. Is something wrong? An abnormality? Is that why you sound weird? Everything is normal here. It's probably a system error."
