Chapter 31 - Chapter 31 : One Month Later

On the outskirts of Konoha, a blond-haired boy could be seen running for his life, a massive horde of pigs thundering after him like a four-legged army.

Naruto sprinted toward the ranch, heart pounding. Just before reaching it, he spotted a thick bush near the fence line and dove into it without hesitation.

"Okay… now or never," he muttered, forming a quick series of hand seals.

Poof!

A shadow clone appeared and immediately darted out into the open, picking up speed as the herd refocused on it.

The stampede followed the clone without hesitation.

The gate to the ranch loomed ahead.

Just as the clone burst inside, the boss pig rammed into it from behind with a loud crash.

Poof!

The clone vanished in a puff of smoke.

The momentum carried the boss pig forward, and he crashed straight into a large wooden crate inside the ranch, shattering it into splinters.

From his hiding spot, Naruto poked his head out, eyes wide and sweating profusely.

"Phew~ Thank god that wasn't my real body," he mumbled, wiping his forehead.

From the side, Kakashi stepped out, perfectly calm. With a quiet clack, he swung the ranch gate shut and locked it behind the last pig.

Mission complete.

"Well done, Naruto," Kakashi said, giving him a small smile and patting him on the shoulder. "You did a good job."

Naruto chuckled and scratched the back of his head, a little embarrassed but clearly proud.

Later

Hokage's Office

Team 7 stood before the mission desk, submitting their completion report. The mission was officially recorded, and after a brief round of paperwork, they were dismissed for the day.

As Sasuke and Sakura split off, Naruto stood in the middle of the road, staring up at the sky.

Still early. I've got time.

Without hesitation, he turned and jogged off toward the training grounds.

His goal was simple: train every single day—not just to get stronger, but to continue shortening the time needed to awaken his Uzumaki bloodline.

One Month Later

A full month had passed since the pig chase mission.

In that time, Naruto's routine had become surprisingly disciplined.

Every day, he completed village missions with Team 7. Afterward, he headed straight to the training grounds to push his body to its limits. His physical training significantly sped up his bloodline progress.

In his free time, he began doing something he never imagined himself doing before:

Reading.

Specifically—studying bloodlines.

At first, Naruto had only wandered into the Konoha library out of boredom. But once he stumbled onto detailed information about the Uzumaki clan, his curiosity exploded.

He began spending hours poring over books—not just about his own lineage, but about kekkei genkai, advanced chakra natures, and unique clan techniques.

Among the documents he read, one thing stood out:

Author: Orochimaru.

The name sent a chill down his spine—but he couldn't deny the man's research was detailed and, frankly, brilliant.

After Orochimaru's defection, several of his older research documents had been released to the public—heavily redacted, of course—and now lived in the back shelves of the village library.

One such document was in Naruto's hands now.

He turned a page slowly, eyes focused.

Byakugan.

The all-seeing eye. One of the Three Great Dōjutsu.

"So this is what the Hyūga can do…" Naruto muttered under his breath.

The more he read, the more fascinated he became.

Bloodlines weren't just cool—they were power. And Naruto intended to master every piece of knowledge he could find.

"Now that my Uzumaki bloodline is almost complete… which one should I choose next?"

Naruto stared at the glowing golden panel floating in front of him, deep in thought. His Samples tab pulsed softly, showing a neat collection of Dna samples—each labeled with the clan or person it came from.

He had been very productive over the last month.

Thanks to countless missions, training sessions, and a bit of creative sneaking around, Naruto had managed to collect samples from a lot of clans in the village. A few came from his classmates, others from teachers.

Just looking at the list of names made him shudder with excitement.

"So many abilities… so many possibilities…"

His fingers hovered over the panel.

"Should I go with the Byakugan next?" he murmured. "It's one of the legendary dōjutsu too…"

But then he frowned, remembering something.

If it takes as long as the Sharingan to develop, I'll be stuck for months again…

He sighed.

"I need something that gives me an actual power boost now. Even a small one. I want to try a cool jutsu already!"

Naruto was already dreaming of surpassing that bastard Sasuke, who always tried to act cool.

But there was the other problem.

When it came to jutsu, Naruto had… well, only one that actually worked in battle:

Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu.

"..."

Other than that?

Just the three academy basics: Clone, Transformation, and Substitution.

"Looks like I have to ask Kakashi-sensei if he can help with this," he thought, facepalming.

And then there was the Flying Thunder God technique—a move that sounded awesome… until he actually tried it.

He had spent three days just drawing circles on the ground, but damn, let alone Naruto, even a leaf didn't move from the place.

Absolute failure.

"This technique didn't show any progress even after I practiced it for a month straight," Naruto lamented. "The only thing it gave me was brain damage."

Though to be fair, he did understand the theory now. Sort of.

The real obstacle? Sealing techniques.

He knew nothing about seals.

Not how they worked. Not how to draw them. Not how to activate them.

"Sealing arts are a whole other topic," he grumbled. "I'll deal with that... later. Like way later."

Returning his gaze to the panel, he tapped his chin.

"So… what's the best next step?"

Thinking for a moment, Naruto opened the Development section to check how much time was left. He knew it was almost time for completion.

His Uzumaki bloodline would soon be finished, and Naruto couldn't help but have some expectations—it had taken him a lot of time and effort to get this far.

The daily training he endured to speed up the process had been extremely taxing, both physically and mentally.
