The sunset cast a tranquil glow, its dazzling radiance softly shedding light on a fair complexion.
Xi blinked his lively, big eyes as he leaned forward for a closer look.
Upon seeing clearly, he realized it was that familiar, beautiful face.
Surprised, he quickly strode over.
"Little Zi sister!"
Little Zi, who had been hiding in the corner secretly sobbing, hurriedly halted her tears and raised her tear-streaked, reddened eyes.
"Xi?"
She was surprised too, noticing the unshed tears lingering in Xi's eyes.
"Why are you crying?"
"Why are you crying?"
Almost in unison, they both questioned each other in confusion.
Xi's expression froze momentarily, and then he sniffed haughtily.
"I wasn't crying."
Saying so, he stepped his small long legs forward to stand before Little Zi, who was crouched in the corner.
She crouched, he stood, and their gazes met, but Xi's height made him tower slightly over her.
