Callix Linton actually didn't know who the call was for. He stopped Lily Turner from answering because he didn't want her to pick up calls from Fabian Holmes or Amelia Linton.
Those two have now been blacklisted by him; he no longer wants to waste time and energy on them.
"Then I'll go wash my face in the bathroom."
After saying a sentence to Callix Linton, Lily Turner strode towards the bathroom.
This fitted perfectly with what Old Mr. Linton wanted. He was just thinking about how to make her leave; unexpectedly, she left voluntarily. He didn't have time to think too much and immediately walked in the opposite direction.
When Callix Linton walked over, the phone had rung for the second time. He quickly picked up the receiver and put it to his ear, "Who is this?"
After asking, he waited quietly for a response from the other side of the phone.
