Lily Turner just walked out of the room when she saw Easton Holmes coming up from downstairs. He saw her too and, upon seeing her walk out of the room, instinctively quickened his pace.
"What's this about?"
Before he even walked over, Easton asked, his eyes not idle, observing her every move intently.
"Coming downstairs to find you!"
Lily still harbored resentment towards Easton for calling and quitting her role without telling her, so her tone was anything but pleasant.
Easton took two big strides to reach Lily's side and naturally reached out to hold her. She struggled to shake him off, but he tightened his grip.
"I wasn't trying to make a decision for you by calling your boss. I saw that you really didn't want to go, so I had Luke call him," he explained, knowing exactly what she was upset about.
