Angelina wished she had been given a different responsibility. Something risky, something bold, anything else. But once again, the queen had sent her to do something that would make others suffer, just so she could hold on to her power. It was always like that with Queen Fortuna. Her orders came with weight, and if you refused, you paid the price. Angelina didn't have the strength or the position to say no.
She made her way down to the servants quarters. The hallway was quiet. No voices, no footsteps, nothing. She moved quickly, not wanting anyone to notice her. When she reached the section reserved for the female servants, she looked around again, then slipped into Marissa's room. That room was easy to find. Marissa didn't share with anyone. She was Princess Katrina's personal maid, and that gave her some privileges.
