Delphine's eyes were unfocused, her gaze on the gaunt, cold man whose fingertips trembled and eyes reddened instantly. How could he have become like this in just a month?
"Old Liu, did you bring someone?" The man heard the breathing in the room and angrily asked with a cold menace.
"It's a caregiver." With a quick wit, Jing Liu said in a low voice, "You know, I can't cook."
"No need, if you bring someone again, you can get out too." The man waved his hand, knocking over a teacup with a crisp shattering sound, then furiously shouted, "Get out."
Jing Liu shook his head at them.
Delphine looked at the shattered porcelain pieces by her feet and almost instinctively found a broom inside the room and went over to sweep up the fragments.
The man keenly sensed a different presence beside him, his handsome, cold face turning fierce as he reached out and pushed her aside.
