"I thought you wanted to sleep with me." Mr. Leclair tugged on the leash, entered the room, and said expressionlessly.
Arthur, pulling a suitcase, glanced at Henry. They exchanged a look, deciding to find a partner and indulge in a bit of romance once Mr. Leclair recovered.
This move of his was really toxic.
Delphine snapped back to reality, biting her lip, wishing she could glare a hole in his back. How could this man think about such things all day without properly considering his illness?
"Miss Delphine, you stay with Mr. Leclair and rest well. If you need anything, just call me." Arthur smiled, having no courage left to step into Mr. Leclair's old residence again. At his own place, he was more unabashed, so for the sake of their single lives, they better retreat.
Delphine nodded and watched Arthur and Henry swiftly run off.
She was somewhat surprised; usually, Arthur was as chatty as an old lady, but today he ran off so quickly.
