Not only the three Great Commanders present but also many leaders of small mercenary groups were taken aback. Over three hundred mercenaries facing more than two hundred cave dwellers, what kind of warm-up could this be? It looked like an evenly-matched and intense struggle.
"Just wait and see." Brand calmed himself and focused his gaze onto the riverbank. The battle on the riverbank had just begun. When the adventurers realized the cave dwellers' intentions, they began retreating toward the forest. They moved quickly but could not outpace the innate advantage of the cave dwellers, and were soon caught at the forest's edge.
