By noon the next day, as soon as it was time to leave work, Wendy tidied up the files on her desk.
Seeing her pack up, Jane Quinlan asked puzzledly, "Are you leaving?"
"It's time to clock out, and I'm not working overtime. I don't need to stay around and watch you and Director Forrest flaunt your relationship, do I?"
Jane Quinlan raised an eyebrow, "Why do you always talk to me as if you have a grudge against me?"
"No grudge, just genuinely dislike you."
With that, she slung her bag over her shoulder and left.
