"Ah?" Gu Li incredulously looked up, "What did you say? Don't you get hungry if you don't eat?"
"Hungry." Gu Chen honestly nodded. "The doctor said I can't eat, because apparently two-thirds of my stomach has been removed, only a little bit is left..."
Gu Li's heart shuddered, finally realizing what she had overlooked last night.
She knew he needed surgery for his stomach discomfort, but had no idea so much needed to be cut out. What if it was more serious—would the entire stomach need to be removed?
Can a person live without a stomach?
Thinking so, Gu Li's heart felt as if it were mixed with shards of broken glass, endlessly and densely aching.
When Gu Chen saw her grim expression, he suddenly realized he said something wrong, and momentarily didn't know how to react. Not good with words and unable to do much practically, he could only silently sigh, watching her distress.
