On the following Monday, Joseph Lancaster made a point of coming back from the office early and went straight to Violet Zimmerman's place. To "apologize," he even brought her Wambaugh's chicken drumsticks.
At three in the afternoon, Violet Zimmerman was sitting on the bed nursing Robert Lancaster. Joseph knew she was alone and came in without knocking.
