If she remembered correctly, they had only met once that day at the nightclub, and they didn't even talk; how could he know her surname? Did he, like her, hire a private detective?
Alder Locke's handsome eyebrows lifted proudly, "If this young master wants to investigate someone's background, just one word is enough. Within a week, I can uncover even the three generations of her ancestors."
"Does your family work at the police station?" Titus Zane asked skeptically; if that were the case, she needed to keep even more distance from this man. If her "profession" were found out, it would be difficult to extricate herself later.
"Darling, can't you think a bit broader?" Alder Locke chuckled, furrowing his brows, a police station? She really had some imagination; how capable could a mere cop be?
