The heavy stone slab sealing the cavern entrance cut off the mountain chill, replacing it with the humid, earthy warmth of the underground spring.
While Elara moved among the refugees, distributing old wool blankets found in the sanctuary's storage chests, Kyle walked toward the far side of the cavern where the blue crystal light was dimmest. He sank down onto a wide stone ledge, his back hitting the wall with a heavy thud.
