All is quiet in the humid dense forest except for the sound of gently flowing water from the nearby river. In the sea of tall brown tree trunks and compact green bushes, all the vegetation looks the same.
However, there is one bush that is a little easier to spot. One that likes to grow near water.
With its widely spread branches and cordate leaves, the Kopa Bush stands out amongst the others. Hidden behind its leaves are small round fruits, which are what I am interested in.
Wearing gloves, I gather as many of the non-edible black fruits as I can, stuffing them into a bag. My brown leather gloves turning black from the juice of the fruit.
"Lady Amara." My lady in waiting, Mirai, calls out to me. I look at her as she runs toward me, coming from the direction of the river. A waterbag in hand.
