Chapter 143 - 140

Ugh, almost four days without update and I almost fogot this account even exist.

...

The entire mountain groaned under the suffocating pressure of Asmet's epic aura. Holy guards and light soldiers raised their weapons with trembling hands, eyes burning with hatred as they glared at Mammon's group.

Yesterday's battlefield still echoed in their memories—colleagues slain, brothers-in-arms devoured. The blood-debt between them was carved into marrow; it could never be forgiven.

Yet Shen Ji's party also braced themselves, wary of the Light Singer's fury.

Mammon, however, only smiled faintly."Lord Singer, is it truly wise to glare at us so? If I hadn't intervened, your precious Ekbert Redeemer would already be a corpse."

His calm voice cut through the air like cold steel. Mammon had no fear of Asmet. For all the divine authority behind that gaze, Asmet could not afford to burn this fragile alliance. Not now—not while the Abyss Realm clawed its way into this world.

"As long as I live," Mammon continued, "Ekbert lives. Turn against us, and you'll have no Redeemer left to command."

The Singer's chest heaved, rage boiling to the surface. To him, Ekbert was more than a commander—he was the soul of the Light God Realm itself. Yet the man before him bore eyes tainted green with infernal fire.

"Save him?" Asmet's voice cracked like thunder. "Do you call this corruption salvation?"

"Strength is not evil, nor is weakness holy," Mammon replied coldly. "You don't recognize your own teacher now that his power has changed?"

For a moment, even Asmet faltered.

Ekbert bowed his head, his voice weary but resolute."After the demons are slain, I shall end myself. Forgive me, Lord Asmet."

Shame flickered across the Singer's pale face. "No, Master Ek… the failure is mine. I let the sacred stone slip away. I let you suffer this fate."

But Ekbert only shook his head. "There is no right or wrong now—only survival. If we are to cleanse this world of abyssal filth, we must join hands."

Asmet's eyes hardened again. "Very well. Speak, then. I assume that's what you've been waiting for?"

Mammon's grin returned. "Of course. None of us wish to see this world swallowed by demons."

Shen Ji's voice followed, steady as steel. "The Human Alliance spares no invader. Be they abyssal monsters—or so-called 'gods of light.'"

The holy guards bristled at her words, but Asmet silenced them with a glance. For now, the enemy was greater than their hatred.

"Then hear the truth," Asmet declared. His voice was grave, his words heavier than stone."Two epics have descended: a Hell Guard and an Abyssal Royal. With them—six S-class horrors, one a royal bloodline demon. Behind them march endless legions."

The air grew colder.

Shen Ji's breath caught. Xiongmo's fists tightened. Even Mammon's eyes narrowed in calculation.

Two Epics. Six S-class. And countless lesser fiends.

"This…" Xiongmo's voice broke, "…this is too much. You came with three Redeemers, yet the Abyss sends an army?"

"You underestimate the abyss," Asmet replied coldly. His tone carried the weight of despair."Blood is the Abyss' greatest weapon. An Epic Great Demon needs only spill a few drops, and entire legions will rise, strengthened beyond imagination."

Ekbert's green fire flared, confirming the grim truth."Six S-class today. Tomorrow? Dozens. With every heartbeat, the Abyss grows stronger."
