The room is dimly lit with all the modest designs on the walls that clearly need renovation.Wei Zhen is standing infront of his fuul body mirror, he stares at it blankly. Today he is wearing his usual plain clothing that hide his prominent features with thick black hair and blue pupils. He looks at his hand and sees the scar it is fairly visible to someone with a keen I for detail on his left arm he brushes off that thought immediately not wanting to remember the origin of this mark. H he proceeds to cover it with his black long sleeved jacket.
His phone rings rings. He picks it up. After checking the name on the screen of his mobile phone.
"Hello?" He says after picking up the phone.
"Wei today you should not head to work directly we have a case on our hands. Ok?" He adds as if to get an assurance from him. This was his senior at the police station: WANG HUI.
Wei Zhen usually holds him in high regards as he had really helped him during a certain periods in his life where he did not know what to do he is was also a friend top his father.
Wang Hui oproceeds to tell him of the directions to take. Wei picks up his batch of house keys. Reaching the road hew decides to take a taxi drive.
"To the Cheng Mansion" He informs the driver who is a middle aged man of about the late 40s in age and bald.
"Yes sir." He answers as he hits the breaks and joins the busy main road in the traffic
15 minutes later
Wei is standing in front of the grand gate of the this palace of Li Cheng the famous businessman know all round Linghua as his business basically owns half if not all of the business. What could have caused his death or killed him?
The gate is wide openned as the place is filled ewith the police and arriving family members.
"It seems thjre media is yet to get hold of this piece of exhilarating news?" He tells himself
He kept standing at the gate waiting for someone. Someone parts him on the back at that very moment he turns and sees the eact person he has been waiting for, Wang Hui.
"Have you been here for long? He asks Wei
"Not really I I have just arrived with the taxi. So what d we have here?" WE a answers
Wang Hui man in his late 50s and Wei's mentor at work and best friend. HE cares so much for Wei and the cause of this... He does not want to remember about it or talk about it.
He proceeds to lead him inside the mansion. From the entrance into the living room it is clear that this family truly is living a lavish life. From the walls which is covered intricate designs of well known designers in their filled. Family pictures are displayed on the walls. A family of three, With all of them having beautiful smiles.The seats all expensive and beautiful and brown to much the brown designs of the mahogany wood on the walls.
Wang Hui notices how Wei is busy looking at the layout and absent minded.
They head to the stairs, pass the hall way to the room at the end of the hallway. It is open.
"So this is the bedroom of the victim?" He asks
"Yes."
"So where was the body found?
"It is in his study. I must tell you from what I have seen this is not going to be very easy on our side"
"Let us get in and I see for myself whether it is true or not.'
They head to the study in the dim lighting as the large windows are still covered by the large curtains there he is, seated on his chair eyes open lifeless with fear eminating from them as if they had seen true horror before they were killed. The throat is slashed with a deep owned his hand lying limply hanging by its sides with blood dripping in small spherical drops into a pool of blood that had formed. The room was seemingly left untouched, showing no signs of struggle,no glass or overturned furniture. Just a dead man with blody cloths and deep wound cuts on his body showing signs of torture before death.
"Seems like he really suffered before his death' Wei asks
"Yea. When we arrived we also thought so. Wang Hui answers
The room is busy. Forensic experts moving in and out doing all sorts of things
"Have samples sent to the forensic lab and have arrangements for the body to be moved to the mortuary. How is the family reacting to this?
"Well all everything has been done we are just waiting for the experts here to finish and move the body. We have talked to the family, The wife and the son. It seems both of them were currently not living here with the victim and they had family problems. But we have called them in for questioning as possible suspects."
"Good. Have a team back at the police station do a background check on both of them and everyone he has interacted with recently We need to start investigations."
He moves behind the large mahogany desk and takes a closer look. All visible torture marks have been carefully cleaned and all possible leads to the culprits carefully erased. However killed this man was either an expert or a trained killer clearly. And by the looks of it it was a premeditated murder.
Suddenly Wei Zhen starts feeling dizzy, his head throbbing and he falls down his eyes slowly closes.
