A crowd gathered in the guild's training grounds.
A battle between Lucky Luke and Yami wasn't on the cards—but the moment it was announced, everybody wanted to see it.
Whispers surrounded the air.
"Is that guy crazy? He's challenging Yami?"
"Maybe he just likes losing."
"Wait, isn't he a merchant? Does he even fight?"
Yami was present in the arena, gripping his black scythe.
Meanwhile, Lucky Luke jumped up and down with excitement, stretching his arms as if he was going for a walk.
Rei, Lina, and Kira stood off the side of the arena.
Rei moved in close to Lina. "So… what do you think? Is this gonna be over in ten seconds or five?"
Lina shoved her glasses higher on her nose. "Something isn't right. He wouldn't make this bet if he didn't have information."
Rei smiled. "Then Yami will just screw up whatever plan he has."
Lina remained silent.
For deep inside… she wasn't so sure.
The Bet
Lucky smiled. "Alright, Yami! Let's just rephrase the bet so we're all on the same page."
Yami nodded. "If I win, I get all your stuff."
Lucky smiled even wider. "And if I win…"
He hesitated dramatically.
".You'll have to be my bodyguard for a month."
Silence.
Rei blinked. "Huh?"
Lina exhaled. "That's it?"
Lucky grinned. "Oh-ho! It's a square bargain, I assure you!"
Yami didn't blink. "Fine. Let's get this over with."
Lucky chuckled. "Oh, Yami… You're going to love this."
The War Begins
Ding!
[Duel Start!]
Yami ran ahead, scythe in tow.
FAST.
To most of the audience, he disappeared from sight—
But Lucky?
Lucky just stood there. Smiling.
Yami swung his scythe down—
FWOOOOOSH!
…And missed.
Yami's blow cut through Lucky Luke as if he weren't there.
Silence.
The entire guild looked.
"…What?"
Even Yami was perplexed.
Rei's eyes widened. "Wait, what happened?"
Lucky Luke, still sitting in the same place, also laughed.
"Oh-ho! That's bad."
He snapped his fingers.

Yami's expression darkened.

Lucky vanished—
Then reappeared behind him.
"Too slow."
Yami turned around with another turn—

Lucky shifted to the side casually, his movements totally relaxed.
"Come on, Yami! You can do better than that!"
The crowd exploded.
"WHAT THE HELL?"
"HE'S AVOIDING EVERYTHING!"
Yami's eyes narrowed.
(So that's his class… Possession.)
A hidden class.
One that allowed him to borrow the gods' powers.
Lucky smiled. "Oh, this is wonderful! But let's see how you handle this."
He snapped his fingers again.

Lucky vanished.
And then—
BOOM!
Before Yami could do anything, he was pushed out of the arena.
The ground caved in where he was standing.
Kira gasped. "W-Wait… did Lucky just HIT him?!!"
Lina's eyes widened. "That speed."
Rei's jaw fell open. "No way."
Yami gritted his teeth, rolling onto his feet.
Lucky was grinning from ear to ear.
"Oh-ho! I just learned a skill for that!"
Yami exhaled.
This man wasn't just strong.
He was devastating.
But that only made this more interesting.
Yami gripped his scythe.
"…Okay then, merchant."
His aura darkened.
"You'd better be prepared, because I'm not going to hold anything back anymore."
Lucky smiled.
"Oh, I was hoping you'd say that!" The real battle… was about to begin.
