The Gossip Continues
Sera noticed Hyunwoo sneaking glances at Hana again and narrowed her eyes, observing him closely. After a moment, she smiled slightly and shook her head.
Sera: "He might be looking at you right this second."
Hana continued scribbling in her notebook indifferently. "You're wasting your energy. I couldn't care less about what he does."
Eunwoo tilted her head slightly, raising her eyebrows. "Are you sure? Because his eyes are saying something different."
Sera giggled and nudged Hana's arm. "Doesn't it bother you even a little? Hyunwoo is with Eunbi now, but he still can't stop looking at you."
Hana shrugged casually. "He can do whatever he wants, and so can I."
Eunwoo let out a small sigh. "Honestly, I don't think Eunbi takes Hyunwoo that seriously either."
Sera raised her eyebrows. "Yeah, did you notice? No matter how much they sit and talk, it doesn't really seem like there's something real between them. It's more like… they're just trying something out?"
Eunwoo nodded slightly. "Exactly. It feels like a game. Hyunwoo thinks he has feelings, but I think he's just trying to convince himself."
Sera turned her gaze back to Hana and smiled. "I don't know, Hana, but I don't think Hyunwoo has fully moved on from you."
Hana didn't react to the comment, continuing to sketch in her notebook. But Sera noticed that, for just a moment, the tip of her pencil pressed a little harder against the page.
Sera: "Don't you think it's a bit strange? If he really wanted something with Eunbi, why is he still looking at you?"
Hana took a deep breath and leaned back in her chair. "You guys are overthinking this. He's living his life, and I'm living mine."
But a small voice inside her was beginning to wonder if it was really that simple.
Just When Hana Thought the Topic Was Over…
Suddenly, the classroom stirred with movement.
Eunbi had just rested her head on Hyunwoo's lap!
Sera and Eunwoo's eyes widened in shock. Meanwhile, Hana unknowingly gripped her pen even tighter.
Sera: "Whoa…"
Eunwoo raised her eyebrows in surprise. "I did not see that coming."
Hana tried to turn away and avoid looking, but her eyes betrayed her, flickering toward the scene. Hyunwoo looked slightly startled but didn't pull away. In fact, he even smiled slightly.
Eunbi: "I'm so tired, let me stay like this for a bit, okay?"
Hyunwoo didn't respond, but he gently placed his hand on her head, running his fingers through her hair. The sight caught the attention of several classmates.
Sera glanced at Hana. Her face was expressionless, but her grip on the pen was so tight it was on the verge of snapping.
Sera: "You're calm, right?"
Hana took a deep breath. "Why wouldn't I be calm?" she replied in an even tone. But as she rested her hand on her notebook, she noticed her fingers trembling slightly.
Eunwoo smirked. "We can look away if you want. But admit it, you're a little annoyed."
Hana rolled her eyes. "I'm not annoyed. And I don't care about what they do."
So why did she feel this strange uneasiness inside?
Sera turned to Eunwoo in disbelief, raising her eyebrows. "Is this girl for real?" she whispered.
Eunwoo chuckled. "Seriously… They're not even officially together, yet she acts like she owns him."
Sera, still observing Hana's reaction, continued. "Imagine you're just getting close to someone, and boom, they rest their head on your lap. Is that normal?"
Hana rolled her eyes, her voice still calm. "Maybe it is. Everyone has different boundaries, after all."
Eunwoo snickered. "If I tried that, someone would definitely push me away."
Sera grinned and nodded. "Exactly! But look at Hyunwoo—no resistance, no surprise… He actually seems to like it."
Hana stared at her notebook, mindlessly scribbling on the page. "Doesn't matter to me. That's their business."
Sera leaned in and poked Hana's notebook with her fingertip. "It may be their business, but you're literally sketching out a murder plan right now."
Eunwoo burst out laughing. "Yeah! Hana, just admit it already. Your eyes are practically shooting lasers."
Hana sighed, dropped her pen, and closed her eyes. "I'm telling you, I don't care. But honestly, what a pointless class, right?" she said, trying to change the subject.
Sera and Eunwoo rolled their eyes in unison. "Sure, sure… Not bothered at all. Alright, let's find something else to entertain ourselves before someone here completely loses it."
But no matter how hard she tried, Hana couldn't erase the image of Eunbi resting her head on Hyunwoo's lap from her mind.
Sera narrowed her eyes as she stared at Hyunwoo and Eunbi sitting across the room. Then, she leaned in slightly and whispered,
"I have a question, but I doubt there's a logical explanation… How did things between them progress this fast?"
Eunwoo also lowered his head and turned his gaze toward them. "Exactly… I mean, how long has it even been since he and Hana broke up? They were literally texting two days ago."
Sera raised her eyebrows slightly and continued, "And when did Eunbi become this close to him? Just last week, they were just friends."
Eunwoo shrugged. "Clearly, they weren't just friends. Look at Hyunwoo—he doesn't seem uncomfortable at all."
Sera rolled her eyes. "Of course he's not, he's part of it. But what's weird to me is… Hyunwoo never seemed like the type to get close to someone so quickly. He was always so cool and distant. And now, he's practically glued to Eunbi."
Eunwoo subtly glanced at Hana, carefully observing her expression. "I think the real question is—what does Hana think about all this?"
Sera followed his gaze, turning her attention to Hana as well. She appeared to be focused on scribbling in her notebook, acting as if she hadn't heard them. But both of them could tell she was distracted.
"Hana, are you seriously not thinking anything about this?" Sera asked in a hushed voice.
Hana put down her pen and looked up. "What's there to think about? Hyunwoo moved on with his life, and I'm moving on with mine," she said, her voice surprisingly calm.
Eunwoo tilted his head slightly. "But don't you think it's too fast? I mean… did Hyunwoo even really love you? How does someone get close to someone else this quickly?"
Hana smiled and shrugged. "Guess it's just not that hard for some people."
But neither Sera nor Eunwoo believed that she was truly this indifferent.
