Chapter 32 - The Lazy King's Another Day

Phew....

Magnus was...uh. Not on his throne, neither was he on the floor.

"Strange" Bob rubbed his chin while doubting Magnus' existence.

He walked up the stairs and took a peek behind the throne.

Magnus was sleeping on the floor, using the slimy-whatever creature as a pillow.

[WAKE UP!!!!!!]

"GAH!" Magnus jumped from the sudden call, sitting straight up. Bob was still staring at him.

He sat for a few seconds, took a look at Bob and flopped back to the pillow.

Bob sighed and left quietly.

Myst didn't.

[Wake up. ]

"Yes...." Magnus spoke slowly, his left eye peeking through a tiny gap between his eyelids.

[Awaken, my child]

"Damn you". His left eye peeked a little more.

[We should get serious. The system is finally fixed.]

"Another update?" Magnus didn't move. Even his mouth didn't move. There was just a tiny gap between his lips through which his voice came.

A ding echoed as a generic status screen came to existence.

"Wow" Magnus' left eye was now fully open.

He stared at the window but his thoughts travelled elsewhere.

"Hey, i have been thinking for sometime. But what's the reason I came here? There's no way you would have done a random pick, would you?"

[You think about that now?] Although, Magnus couldn't see her, it was evident from the tone of her voice she was frowning, not sure how though.

He turned to his left side, sighed, streched, turned back to his back and stared at the screen again. "Yeah. Tell me. I am kinda bored."

[Well, in truth you are inside a novel.]

"Cool. But how's that gonna help me to back?"

Suddenly, the door burst open, fragments of the steel raining on the ground like a thunderstorm. From the opening came a huge minotaur. So huge to the fact he couldn't fit in the door frame.

It's red eyes searched for a prey as it's disgusting saliva dripped on the ground.

Too bad for him, Magnus was behind the throne. Finding nothing he turned.

Suddenly, it started to rage, it brought up it's axe, intending to attack someone in front of it, but in that instance it's head flopped on the ground. Blood flowing out like fountain, with a loud thud, it's body too hit the ground, after that the culprit was revealed, and it was none other than, Gustav.

For some reason, he had grown a insane amount of muscles. Chest as thick as his broadsword, his back muscles twitching with the ocean-like sculpture, his core was unbelievably lean and his arms were built like logs.

Then, in the next second, he mysteriously turned back to his normal thin shape and quietly left. Leaving the corpse at its place.

All this happened in Magnus' knowledge, but not in his concern. He was rather more focused on knowing why he was in this world.

"Yeah. Actually. I miss my old world. Send me back"

Myst heard his words, but just like a certain man, she also ignored him. Her real concern was the fact that a 'Human being' had effortlessly killed a minotaur.

[Okay. I am not going to ignoring the fact your servant just killed that minotaur, And a saint-level at that.] Myst

"Saint level this, Saint level that. What even is that?"

[You absolute walnut.]

A question mark appeared on top of Magnus' head like a cartoon character. He was so lazy that a genuine question mark appeared just to express his feelings. This truly is hell.

For a moment, Myst paused then continued.

[...Let me break it down so even you can understand.]

A new window slammed open in front of him:

[STRENGTH TIERS – ERYNDALE]

• Mortal (Lv 1–20)

Basic people. Farmers. Peasants. Guys who lose to mosquitoes, and poverty.

• Adept (Lv 20–50)

New adventurers. Can fight goblins without crying.

• Expert (Lv 50–100)

Now, they awaken Aura, or Mana. They are Knights, elite soldiers, respected fighters.

Can one-shot small beasts, but still die to anything ugly.

• Master (Lv 100–150)

War generals, clan heads, royal mages.

Can destroy a city in minutes.

• Grandmaster (Lv 150–200)

• Transcendent (???)

Beings who stepped beyond the concept of "levels."

Only Demon Kings, Ancient beings, and cosmic entities reach this. You are one of them.

Magnus took his time reading the list. Suddenly, he started to float, his body lifted a metre above the ground, spun, and landed once again on his back.

[.....]

[Was that necessary?]

"A man that does not moves is a man that does not moves."

[What?] Myst was now extremely confused.

First, he, for no reason, floats and spuns, and now he starts quoting? That's weird. Is this truly the vessal th----

[Huh? What was that? Oh yeah. What were you talking about going back?]

Magnus opened his left eye fully and his right eye halfway, showing more intrest.

"Yeah. Send me back"

[I can't]

A red nerve twitching mark appeared on the left side of this forehead. (Okay, that's anger. I understand it now.)
