I was waiting for my sister the next day by the gate with Lloyd. Lloyd didn't trust her and to be honest neither did I. Which is why I had everyone leave the monastery for the day. Well Lloyd stayed but that's because he's a little overprotective. Jayden finished climbing the million steps. She was out of breath. "You guys need to install an elevator," she panted.
I smiled. "Nah, it's our way of testing peoples determination."
"Have I proved myself?"
"No," Lloyd bit out tail moving in slight anger.
I kicked his leg. "Be nice," I muttered then turned to my sister. "You proved you're determined to see me."
She looked around. "Are you the only ones here?"
I nodded. "Everyone wanted to go have fun in town," I lied smoothly.
She studied me carefully. "And you guys didn't want to go?"
"Why would I go? I knew you were coming. I wasn't going to have you show up to an empty house."
"Okay but your husband didn't want to go?"
"Why would I leave my wife with someone I don't trust?" Lloyd growled tail whipping. "I won't let you hurt her."
"Lloyd!" I snapped.
Jayden smiled sadly. "No, it's okay, Y/n. I get where your husband is coming from."
"Give us a minute," I said and dragged Lloyd away. "The hell is wrong with you?" I bit out.
"Use your powers! I can smell her hatred and her intent, Y/n, and you could too if you stopped thinking she wants to be friends," Lloyd ground out between clenched teeth.
I frowned and let my power reach out and cursed. Hatred and malice. "Dammit."
"Yeah."
I walked back over to her. "Look if you hate me so much and want to hurt me then why did you agree to what I said?"
She pulled out a knife. "So I could come and kill you."
