He didn't have any say in what came next.
"Seize them both!"
The man on the speaker yelled with annoyance and frustration in his voice. The van doors burst open as several teams of six to eight people stormed onto the ground. From the helicopters above, armed troops rappelled down to the rooftops and pointed their guns at the woman.
Her grin only widened.
"Come on, now."
She raised her hand. A purplish-pink energy filled the air before her before exploding into a mist that covered the whole space.
It fell down into the alley and spread through the sky. It touched Gio's body, immediately making him slump onto the wall behind him.
His mind was still awake, but he felt like he'd lost all control of his body. The only thing he could feel now was a slight heat that made his very existence feel fuzzy.
His perception of the world around him turned into a mess of colors that swirled and morphed between patterns as if he'd taken a hallucinogen.
'How do I…?'
