Half an hour later
Having followed their tracks for multiple days, Darius was finally nearing their camp.
He had asked every person he met if they had seen a group of three. Two men and a woman.
Though people had been reluctant to tell him at first, when he had explained what they had done and why he was looking for them, most people understood and answered. Telling him whether they had seen the group or not.
Keeping his stealth high and moving soundlessly, Darius moved through the shadows of the forest, using the darkness of night to his advantage as he ran.
Marveling at how easy it felt to run through the forest, how his feet barely left behind prints on the ground and how his breathing was still unlabored, a cold smile bloomed on his lips.
He couldn't help thinking back to when he first awakened as a rogue and how ecstatic he had been. How glad he still was for the gift the system had given him.
