Chapter 15 - The First Expulsion?

30th June, Saturday

‎

I tried to get a hold of myself, but all my instincts flared up.

My right fist landed on the opponent's jaw, carrying a tremendous force behind it. They moved back a few steps, already bleeding and trying to regain their balance.

Who were my opponents? I did not know. I had stopped thinking the moment my fist hit them.

All I knew was to beat the shit out of them and let out all of my frustration.

I wasn't the one who started this. They asked for it, this is just self defence!

I tried to justify my actions while kicking my second opponent perfectly at their right knee, making them instantly fall down, screaming in pain.

I then glared at my last opponent, enjoying the look of fear on their face. They probably wanted to run, but didn't want to abandon the other two.

As I was preparing to quickly jab them in the stomach, I heard a loud ring reaching my ears.

I momentarily stopped, which gave my opponent, that bastard Ichizaki, a chance to throw a punch at me, although he seemed quite hesitant.

It didn't reach my face, though. I had easily blocked it with my left forearm, it hurt a bit, but that only helped me get control of my instincts.

"Huh?"

I felt like someone was looking at us.

But what did it matter? The three desperately tried to attack me, and failed each time, getting further beaten up.

There were quite a few distractions, though. Insanely hot winds hit my face from the nearby window, and my mobile never stopped ringing.

Realising I was still in the middle of the 'fight' between these three clowns, I slammed my whole body at Ichizaki with my left shoulder.

He moved back due to the momentum, his leg colliding with Komiya, who was still on the ground because of his injured knee, and lost his balance and hit the ground with his whole back, including his head.

"Tch! Now get the hell outta here unless you want to get your ass beaten again!" I snapped at them, looking at their sorry state.

Kondou, who was mostly beaten, quickly stood up and supported Komiya.

"Hehe, do you really think this is the end of it, Sudou?" Komiya uttered, not even being able to stand.

Before I could say anything, my mobile started ringing again.

I pulled Komiya by his collar and wiped the blood on my fist on his clothes, then took out my phone.

Huh...? Why is Sakura calling me? And why now of all times?

However, right before I could pick it up, it abruptly ended.

After dropping Komiya, I picked up my bag and left. Just outside the special building I left, Sakura was standing nearby.

"Huh… did you see everything, Sakura?"

I asked, understanding why she would call me.

Without responding to anything, Sakura turned away and quickly walked away.

Well, I could catch her quite easily if I wanted, but she might be scared of me right now if she saw all that.

Shit… I let my anger get ahead of me again.

1st July, Sunday

‎

I reached the classrooms just a few minutes before the actual time. Nearly the whole class was full, and everyone wore a serious expression.

"Morning, Sudou."

My neighbour, mentor, and friend, Yamauchi, greeted me. At first, he seemed similar to that bastard Ike, but I really owed him now. His face… felt a bit different today, but I couldn't exactly tell what.

"Mornin'." I replied, putting my bag down.

The fragile girl sitting behind him, Sakura Airi, made eye contact with me for a split second before quickly averting her gaze.

I felt a bit sorry for letting her see that yesterday, but not like I could do anything about it. What was she doing there, anyways?

Within a few minutes, Chabashira-sensei came into the class.

Ike suddenly started asking as to why we didn't get any points. Well, nearly everyone wanted answers.

"Well then, without any further ado, here are this month's point totals."

Class A - 1040

Class B - 665

Class C - 495

Class D - 90

Heck yeah! We got 90 class points!

But it was only when Horikita mentioned that every class gained class points I realised it was true.

"Wait, if that's true, then why didn't we get 9000 private points then?" Ike asked.

"There is some trouble in distributing private points for first year students. Once it is resolved, the points will be distributed."

‎

'Well that solves most of my problems. I'll get 12k points, including Ike's 3k, so I can just buy the whole years membership with 20k points.

But… what is that issue because of which we haven't got our points yet?'

Yamauchi was in deep thought as the classes ended.

"Sudou. Come to the faculty room, I have to talk to you about something." Chabashira called Sudou out, who was quickly packing up his bag.

"Huh? I have got basketball practice right now."

"I have already talked to the advisor, you don't need to come but be ready to face the consequences then." She replied, cutting off his escape.

'This seems quite serious…' Yamauchi couldn't help but think, considering Chabashira was being so forceful.

Since Sudou had no choice but to go, he clicked his tongue and followed her.

"Can I come too, sensei?" Yamauchi asked. Though he had to go to the club today, it would be much more problematic if Sudou ended up doing something crazy.

Chabashira seemed a bit confused, but agreed with a nod.

Soon, the three were inside the staff's room.

"So here's the thing: Three students of Class C have filed a complaint against Sudou for calling them into a special building and then beating them up yesterday."

She uttered those words without any emotion.

"Huh?" Yamauchi raised an eyebrow and looked at Sudou.

"Wh-What the hell! They were the ones who called me there and then assaulted me! I just fought back in self-defence!" He snapped at her words.

"Do you have any proof for that? Their injuries are quite serious." She asked.

Sudou simply shrugged.

"What, do you expect me to keep a photographer with me while going to a fight so they can get me some proof?"

"Well sadly that is just how things work. As I mentioned, their injuries are serious, so without any proof that what you did was self-defence, it is highly likely that this will be seen as your fault. You can even get expelled for this." Chabashira calmly stated all that as if it were no concern to her. "Moreover, if you were attacked, then you should have filed a complaint, but you didn't. And you aren't injured at all in fight, so how can it even be called self-defence?"

As Sudou was just about to lash out on Chabashira, Yamauchi quickly stopped him.

"We won't get anything by arguing with her." He then turned to Chabashira, "If that is all, sensei, can we leave now?"

"Yes, but do know that until this matter is resolved no private points will be distributed in your year."

Normally Yamauchi would have a hard time believing that Sudou wasn't lying.

'But the timing is just too good this time. Class points were just about to be distributed the next day.

Moreover, even Sudou wouldn't pointlessly pick fights when he is at such an important position in his club.'

"Alright, dude. I know you would have no proof about this, but can you think of anything that could help with the case?"

"Like where did the fight happen? Were there any cameras nearby, if not directly recording the fight? When did the fight happen? Or if anyone you told about, or witnesses?" He added, baragging Sudou with questions.

Sudou was surprised that Yamauchi didn't even ask if he was lying or anything, but he quickly pushed that aside and started thinking.

"Oh yeah! Airi was standing just outside the building when I left. And she was repeatedly calling me while I was in the fight too. She probably witnessed everything!"

Sudou was suddenly relieved that Airi was there.

'Crap… a witness who is not only from the same class but also from the same study group and is close to the accused?

Well… it's still better than no one.'

"I see… Okay then, you still have to go to practice, right? Call me once you are done with it. Make sure not to listen to any provocations from class C students, though.

This is likely a trap to damage our class, so keep cool and whatever happens, make sure you stay near a place that has CCTV recording everything." Yamauchi said, not holding him up for more details.

"Thanks, man! I didn't expect you to believe me so easily. I just hope I don't get kicked from the permanent position before even getting there because of this…" Sudou said, quickly turning with a nod.

Usually, Yamauchi would have preferred to directly talk face to face about something this important. But he understood that talking with Airi would be much more efficient via text.

After he reached his dorm and saved himself from the intense heat, he started explaining the whole situation to Airi. Once he asked her for details, she started typing something for a few minutes… then stopped. Eventually, she just sent a message:

Airi: Please wait a minute.

'The heck? She had been typing this all the time?'

But his eyes widened as he saw what she sent him next.

[A/N: I wanted to write a bit more in this chapter, but I just couldn't help but use this cliffhanger ;) Though, most of you probably guessed what it is.]
