With a sharp buzz, Naruto appeared at the front gate of Konohagakure using the Flying Thunder God Technique, golden chakra light flashing briefly beneath his feet as he landed.
At that moment, Kakashi was already waiting with a group of Konoha shinobi, all standing formally to welcome the arriving dignitaries who were attending Jiraiya and Tsunade's wedding.
Although most people only recognized the Five Great Nations, the ninja world was far larger, full of smaller countries and hidden villages. Even those minor villages had sent envoys to show respect for the legendary Sannin.
Compared to the era when Naruto himself got married, the number of attendants was far fewer, but the diplomatic importance was the same.
Kakashi greeted Naruto casually, though still maintaining some official dignity.
All guest list verifications and check-ins had been assigned to Shikaku Nara, so Kakashi didn't worry too much about the administrative details.
"Naruto!"
"Kakashi-sensei!"
Kakashi gave Naruto a pat on the shoulder. "How's everything on Jiraiya-sama's side?"
Naruto nearly mentioned Jiraiya's wild drunken antics the previous night, but he swallowed it back quickly and waved his hand. "There were… a few problems, but as long as I'm around, it's nothing big!"
Kakashi nodded. "Good. Then go pick up the guests from the other villages."
"No problem! I'll bring Gaara and the others first. Shikamaru's wife is there too."
After Temari and Shikamaru officially confirmed their relationship, she returned to Sunagakure. Now they would all travel together for the wedding banquet.
With a spark of yellow flash, Naruto vanished again.
Sunagakure
Gaara and Kankuro were already prepared—only Temari was still inside getting ready.
"Hey—hey—sister, can you PLEASE hurry up!?"
Kankuro groaned loudly.
He had woken up, washed up, fixed his hair, changed clothes—all within ten minutes. But Temari had already been at it for half an hour and still wasn't done.
From inside the room Temari shouted irritably:
"Why are you rushing me!? Girls take time to get ready! Just WAIT!"
Gaara crossed his arms, sighing helplessly.
Even if he was the Kazekage… he was still Temari's little brother. That made discipline nearly impossible.
Seeing no progress, Kankuro turned to Gaara and complained in a dramatic whisper:
"I'm seriously done with this. Ever since she came back from Konoha last time, she's been obsessed with dressing up—buying clothes, doing makeup, and whining every day about how the desert wind is ruining her skin!"
He sighed aggressively.
"Gaara, when we get to Konoha, PLEASE let Shikamaru marry this woman. I'm begging you! If he can get tricked ONCE, his brain must be damaged enough already! Let him keep her! I'll even bow to Shikamaru on the same date every year!"
Gaara frowned. "But… she's our sister. Isn't that a bit—"
Before he could finish, Naruto appeared.
"Ah, looks like you're ready! Come on, come on, hold hands—let's go!"
Gaara said, "Wait, Naruto. Temari isn't done yet."
Kankuro yelled again toward the room:
"HEY! Sister! Naruto is here! If you don't come out, we're LEAVING YOU!"
"I'm coming! I'm coming!"
Temari rushed out, carrying a small shoulder bag, looking unusually refined.
During her last visit to Konoha, she'd seen the enormous bookshelf at Shikamaru's home—full of books, scrolls, shogi strategies, and intellectual materials. Between Shikamaru and Shikaku, she had realized she couldn't keep wearing fishnet outfits forever. Now she was trying to look more cultured and elegant.
Naruto blinked in surprise.
"Temari—you look… really pretty!"
Temari blushed and punched his shoulder lightly.
"Oh, Naruto, stop it!"
Gaara hid his face in embarrassment.
Kankuro closed his eyes and screamed internally:
Naruto… are you blind? THIS is what you call beautiful!?
Temari placed a hand on her hip.
"Alright Naruto, let's go!"
"Okay—okay!"
Naruto thought silently:
Please let me drag her to Shikamaru already. If she stays here any longer, I might faint from secondhand embarrassment! Better let Shikamaru deal with this earlier!
He teleported all of them instantly.
Konoha Gates
Kakashi continued greeting delegations from the smaller nations. Beside him, Sakumo Hatake – the White Fang, stood with a warm smile, supervising the welcome.
With another flash, Naruto arrived with Gaara and his siblings.
"Gaara, I need to pick up the next group, so I'll leave you here!"
Gaara patted Naruto's shoulder. "Thank you, Naruto."
Naruto vanished again.
Gaara turned to the gates. "Let's head in."
Kakashi stepped forward, extending a hand. "Lord Kazekage, welcome."
Gaara smiled. "With so many celebrations happening in Konoha, of course I must come support!"
Kakashi gestured forward. "Please."
As they walked inside, Kakashi glanced at Temari—and froze. He didn't recognize her at all. Her new refined style was so dramatically different that it shocked him.
Arrival of the Other Kage
Naruto transported the remaining Kages one group at a time.
Kakashi shook each of their hands respectfully.
Ōnoki chuckled, "Heh… didn't think I'd live long enough to drink at Lady Tsunade's wedding!"
Kurotsuchi smirked. "Old man, you better drink a LOT today."
Ōnoki laughed. "Hahaha, that's certain!"
The Fourth Raikage, A, grumbled:
"This time I WILL sit at Minato's table. Last time, during Naruto's wedding, I didn't even get near it!"
Killer B rapped,
"Yo yo, yeah! I'll sing on stage and rock the show, oh yeah!!"
Darui looked uncomfortable.
A slapped the back of B's head.
"Bi—don't make me slap you on the happiest day of my life!"
Terumi Mei smiled gracefully and told Chojuro:
"Watch carefully. This is what real diplomacy looks like."
Chojuro nodded shyly. The memory of that hot spring incident with the Mizukage flashed in his mind, and his cheeks turned beet red.
Ao smirked knowingly—he clearly knew the whole story.
With the Kage of four major villages now present, Kakashi no longer needed to stand at the gate. Only the smaller village envoys were left, and his father Sakumo could handle that effortlessly.
Kakashi gave a few instructions to the gate squad and then escorted the Kage into the village.
Amegakure (Hidden Rain Village)
Naruto appeared outside the Rain Village tower.
"Konan-senpai! Yahiko! Nagato! Let's go! Time for the feast!"
Konan smiled faintly. "Naruto, wait a moment. I'll gather the children and bring them as well."
"No problem!"
Nagato asked:
"Is Jiraiya-sensei looking good today?"
Naruto grinned. "He looks amazing. You'll see soon."
Yahiko stretched. "Tonight, Nagato and I will toast to our master!"
Nagato nodded.
A group of Amegakure children ran over.
"NARUTO-SAMA!!"
Nagato raised his voice sharply:
"Quiet, all of you! This is an important trip to Konoha. Follow village rules and discipline. What do you always learn in the academy!?"
Instant silence.
"If you break the rules, you cannot become proper Amegakure shinobi. UNDERSTAND?"
"UNDERSTOOD!"
Naruto leaned to Konan.
"Senior sister, Senior Brother Nagato is really good at handling kids…"
Konan chuckled softly. "He is the principal of the academy. He has to show some authority."
Yahiko clapped his hands.
"Alright! Listen to the principal—or else the village chief will scold you. Follow the rules and you'll have plenty of fun, okay?"
"OKAY!!!"
Konan smiled at Naruto.
"One parent is the good cop, the other is the bad cop. That's how it always goes."
