Chapter 390 - Chapter 390 – Execute the Plan!

In front of the Uchiha compound.

Naruto arrived alongside Kabuto, Kakashi, Obito, and Yamato. Without hesitation, Naruto channeled Yang Release into the air, letting it radiate outward so that Sasuke's Yin-aligned chakra would immediately sense the signal. As expected, it only took a few seconds before Sasuke appeared before them.

Sasuke narrowed his eyes. "What do you want with me this time?"

Naruto smirked. "Obviously, something important."

Kabuto adjusted his hood, stepped forward, and greeted Sasuke politely. "Sasuke, it's been a long time."

Sasuke's expression hardened as he recognized him. "Kabuto… you little snake. Where's Orochimaru?"

Kabuto chuckled, slowly removing his hood. His eyes glinted with pride as he declared, "I already told you before. I am no longer a snake. I've transcended. I've become a dragon! You, of all people, should update your knowledge, Sasuke."

Sasuke clicked his tongue in irritation but then turned to Naruto instead. His voice grew colder. "Naruto, your parents came by my house yesterday. They brought a girl with them. Do you know anything about this?"

Naruto tilted his head, pretending not to know at first, then gave a small laugh. "Yeah, I know. Why? What's the problem?"

Sasuke's face twitched with frustration, his voice rising. "The problem? My parents heard from your parents that you're already engaged. On top of that, Hinata's pregnant, and they're about to have a grandchild! Now my parents keep looking at me, their eyes practically screaming at me to hurry up and get married!"

His words carried obvious irritation. Sasuke clenched his fists. "This is all your fault!"

Naruto raised his hands defensively, a bemused look on his face. "Hold up, hold up! How's this my fault, brother?"

Sasuke jabbed a finger at him. "If you hadn't been so quick to settle down, my parents wouldn't be comparing me to you nonstop. In my mother's words—'You're several months older than Naruto and still without a partner!' And then she adds, 'Look at him, already engaged, already expecting a child!' It makes them even more unbalanced and puts all the pressure on me!"

Naruto fought hard to suppress his laughter. "Well, then why don't you just satisfy your parents? You're not exactly lacking options. You could accept both—Sakura and Karin."

Kakashi nearly choked on his own breath, his single visible eye widening. The topic had just become way too bold. "Two wives at once…?" he muttered.

Standing nearby, Obito let out a small laugh and nudged Kakashi. "Kakashi, you better hurry up yourself. Your students are all getting engaged, some even having children. And you? Still single. Honestly, it's outrageous!"

Kakashi made a sharp clicking sound with his tongue, glaring at Obito. "Why don't you focus on your own situation before lecturing me?"

Sasuke ignored the chatter, scowling at Naruto. The very idea of marrying two women at once was absurd to him. What on earth was Naruto even thinking? Even if he wanted to rebuild the Uchiha clan, that wasn't the way!

Before he could argue further, another familiar chakra signature approached.

A calm voice echoed from the side. "Ah… it's you. So many familiar chakras gathered here…"

It was Uchiha Itachi.

Sasuke's eyes lit up the moment he saw him. "Brother! Where were you last night? You didn't come home!"

Caught off guard, Itachi scratched the back of his head somewhat awkwardly, his tone almost playful. "Oh, nothing important. I was just walking around the village. Nothing more."

Sasuke gave him a small nudge. "Brother, Father and Mother were worried when you didn't come home. They told me to look for you. You should hurry back!"

"…Really?" Itachi asked, almost suspiciously.

"Of course," Sasuke said firmly.

Itachi nodded and then politely greeted Naruto and Kakashi. His gaze lingered on Obito for a moment, filled with unspoken tension, before briefly glancing at Kabuto. Finally, without another word, he turned and left.

Watching him go, Yamato muttered in surprise. "That was Uchiha Itachi… Konoha's former prodigy, the pride of the Uchiha clan, and once an elite of the Anbu. I never thought I'd see him in person."

Kakashi nodded solemnly. "Yes. In today's world, thanks to Naruto's power to resurrect the dead, many who had long since passed are walking among us again."

Naruto caught the shift in topic and looked squarely at Sasuke. "Sasuke, put aside this whole 'find a partner' issue for now. Once your brother gets home, I'm sure he'll draw plenty of firepower from your parents."

Naruto's expression grew more serious. "As for what I promised you… I'll fulfill it. Kabuto will help dig up your clan's graves. Once that's done, you come to me, and I'll bring them back."

Sasuke's eyes flicked to Kabuto, his gaze narrowing with suspicion. Still, after a moment, he gave a small nod.

Naruto grinned. "Good. Work with Kabuto, then. I've got something else I need to take care of. When you're done, we'll regroup."

Sasuke raised an eyebrow. "Something else? What are you running off to do now?"

Naruto casually pointed toward Obito. "Something for him. Don't worry about it. Focus on your own task first."

Without another word, Naruto activated the Flying Thunder God Technique, vanishing in a flash of golden light with Kakashi, Obito, and Yamato.

That left only Kabuto and Sasuke standing together.

Sasuke turned his head slightly, giving Kabuto a cold, commanding look. "…Follow me."

Kabuto chuckled softly and obeyed without protest.

Meanwhile, Naruto and the others reappeared in a secluded park lined with cherry blossom trees. Though the season had already passed, the trees still stood tall, barren and bare.

Naruto turned to Yamato. "Captain Yamato, sorry to trouble you with this."

Yamato stepped forward, broke off a branch, and placed his hand over it. Channeling Wood Release, he infused it with life energy. Slowly, the barren stick sprouted fresh green buds, then small leaves, until pink blossoms unfolded one after another in full bloom.

Obito's face lit up with unrestrained excitement. "It worked!"

Kakashi gave a satisfied nod. "Looks like the proposal plan is actually coming together."

Naruto studied the rows of cherry blossom trees carefully. They were planted in two neat lines, creating a natural pathway. If Yamato could revive them all, the entire lane would blossom beautifully. The perfect stage for Obito's proposal to Rin.

Yamato sighed as he assessed the scope of the task. "Naruto, listen… while I can use Wood Release, creating enough vitality to restore every tree along this path won't be quick. It'll take a lot of chakra and time. I can't make them all bloom at once."

Naruto glanced up at the sky. The sun was already leaning into late afternoon. He frowned slightly. "How long do you think it'll take, at minimum?"

Yamato thought it over carefully, checking both rows of trees. "At least one full night."

Naruto nodded. "That's fine. Start now. Obito, tomorrow you'll bring Rin here. Make it mysterious. Best if you blindfold her, so the surprise hits harder."

Obito's grin spread ear to ear, and he gave a thumbs-up. "No problem."

Kakashi chuckled at Obito's goofy expression. It was strangely nostalgic. For the first time in years, Obito looked like the idiot friend from their youth—carefree, reckless, and completely consumed by love.

As Yamato began working his Wood Release on the surrounding trees, Obito created a Wood Release: Wood Lock Prison to seal off the entire park. He left only a single narrow exit, ensuring no one would wander in and ruin the surprise.

The sudden surge of Wood Release chakra caught the attention of Konoha's defensive shinobi, but Kakashi quickly explained the situation. Once they realized Naruto was overseeing it, the tension settled.

By nightfall, Obito and Kakashi had no choice but to head back. They couldn't risk Rin growing suspicious if they disappeared too long.

Yamato, however, stayed behind with Naruto to continue the work. Exhaustion was already pulling on his face.

"Captain Yamato," Naruto suggested gently, "why don't we rest for a bit? Sleep first, then continue after waking up."

Yamato nodded slowly, though his lips twitched as he added, "Fine… but Naruto, stay far away from me while you sleep."

Naruto tilted his head, confused. "Eh? Why?"

Yamato muttered darkly, almost to himself. "You really need to ask? Back on missions, you'd roll around in your sleep, throwing Rasengan subconsciously. If it weren't for my Wood Release defenses, I'd have been obliterated by now."

Naruto scratched his head with a sheepish laugh. "Ah… sorry about that, Captain Yamato. I'll try not to roll this time."

Meanwhile, Obito and Kakashi arrived back at Minato's house.

The moment they stepped inside, Rin stood up. "Where did you two go? Why are you only back now?"

Kakashi waved casually. "Sorry, we got delayed."

Obito stepped forward, smiling warmly at Rin. "Rin, we're here to take you with us."

From the sofa, Minato and Kushina rose as well, both looking at the pair with curiosity.

"Where's Naruto?" Minato asked.

Kakashi answered quickly, "Naruto asked me to tell you he won't be back tonight. He's busy with something, so don't worry."

Kushina crossed her arms, glaring. "That brat! He never comes home anymore."

Minato chuckled softly. "Kushina, Naruto isn't a child anymore."

But Kushina snorted, huffing. "As long as I'm alive, he'll always be my child."

Rin gave her thanks, then left with Kakashi and Obito. Along the way, Kakashi suggested that she stay one more night in the village before heading anywhere else. Obito agreed without hesitation, smiling brightly.

Rin assumed he simply wanted to spend more time catching up with Kakashi, so she accepted.

And so, the three of them returned to Kakashi's home for the night, while Naruto and Yamato worked tirelessly to bring Obito's dream into reality.
