"Ah!"
Naruto roared as he emerged from the Mental World, regaining control of his body after receiving chakra from the tailed beasts.
Because of the time dilation between the inner world and the real world, Obito only noticed Naruto pause for a few seconds.
"Let's go, Naruto!" Kurama shouted.
Naruto nodded and let out a roar. His seven Shadow Clones, all in Nine-Tails Chakra Mode, moved simultaneously to grab the chakra black receivers embedded in the tailed beasts.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
In the blink of an eye, Naruto pulled out all seven of the chakra rods and tossed them aside.
The tailed beasts collapsed to the ground, unconscious, their bodies limp from exhaustion.
Gyūki exclaimed,
"Beautifully done, Naruto!"
Sasuke gritted his teeth in frustration. In a moment, he had lost complete control over the tailed beasts.
Obito narrowed his eyes and stepped beside Sasuke.
"Summon the Gedo Statue."
Sasuke gave a sharp, irritated response,
"I know. You don't need to tell me."
Without the black chakra rods suppressing the tailed beasts, they could no longer be controlled. Sasuke couldn't give them to Naruto—but he could re-seal them.
Sasuke quickly formed a series of hand seals.
His mouth began glowing with red light before releasing seven chakra chains, each wrapping around one of the freed tailed beasts. The chains yanked them back toward the Gedo Statue, and one by one, the tailed beasts were absorbed again into its gaping mouth.
"Damn it!" Gyūki cursed.
"We just got rescued, and now we're getting pulled back in!"
Naruto scowled,
"Don't worry. This isn't over."
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Two figures appeared nearby—it was Kakashi Hatake and Might Guy.
"Naruto!" Kakashi called.
Naruto turned and smiled.
"Kakashi-sensei! You made it!"
Kakashi nodded, glancing around and immediately spotting Minato and Jiraiya.
"Minato-sensei, Jiraiya-sama!"
Guy stepped forward, unusually serious.
"Lord Fourth. Jiraiya-sama."
Minato chuckled.
"Guy, is that you? You've changed a lot since the last time we met!"
Guy scratched the back of his head.
"Haha, yeah…"
Jiraiya crossed his arms, eyes sharp as ever.
"It's rare to have so many people like us gathered together during such a crisis."
After greetings were exchanged, Kakashi turned his attention toward Obito. His expression hardened as his eyes shifted to Sasuke.
"Sasuke," Kakashi said coldly, "you've fallen."
Sasuke scoffed and pointed at Obito.
"You should be saying that to your old friend, Kakashi. He fell long before I did."
Kakashi turned his gaze fully to Obito. His expression was unreadable, but something flickered behind his lone Sharingan.
Guy clapped a hand on Kakashi's shoulder.
"That masked guy… it's Obito, isn't it?"
Kakashi gave a small nod.
Guy faced Obito and shouted:
"Obito! We're all former comrades. Now that your identity is exposed, drop the mask already. The real Madara is on the battlefield—we're not fooled anymore!"
Obito narrowed his eyes. Then, slowly, he reached up and removed his mask, tossing it aside.
He stared at them with a calm expression.
"You're right. With so many familiar faces here, there's no point in hiding anymore. And to be honest…" He sneered.
"Wearing that mask never made me feel any guilt."
Minato's and Kakashi's eyes both flashed with pain.
Naruto stepped forward.
"Obito… if we're talking about guilt, you should feel the most. You couldn't even protect Rin!"
"Shut up!"
That single sentence pierced Obito's heart like a blade.
Sasuke snorted.
"Don't even try to talk to him. You can't reason with people like that—just fight him. That's all he understands."
But Naruto knew better.
In his previous life, he had reached Obito—had seen through him. He remembered what Obito used to be: passionate, hopeful, the kid who wanted to become Hokage, who secretly liked Rin, and who always hated being overshadowed by Kakashi.
But after being manipulated by Madara… everything had fallen apart.
Naruto's voice rang out:
"Obito, you once dreamed of being Hokage. You were jealous of Kakashi, yet Rin recognized you. Now look at you—standing in front of your master and your best friend, you've become the thing you once despised the most.
Where is your dream now? Where is the girl you loved? Is this what you wanted? What would Rin think if she saw you like this?"
Sasuke's eyes narrowed. He could clearly see Obito's breathing growing erratic.
He sighed to himself. Naruto… always knew the right words. He got under people's skin like no one else could.
It wasn't about logic. When Naruto spoke, something always hit home.
"Enough!"
Obito's voice cracked. He stared at Naruto, his expression twisted with rage. The more he looked at Naruto, the more he saw himself—the idealistic boy he once was.
And that was the part he hated most.
That was the true reason he wore a mask.
Not to trick the world into thinking he was Madara, but so he wouldn't have to face himself.
Obito reached back, grabbing for the Gunbai (Uchiha fan) strapped to his back. His hand trembled.
Drip.
A drop of water fell from his hand.
"Sweat?" he muttered.
No.
It was raining.
He looked up, surprised.
Even the skies cried when facing someone like Naruto.
Sasuke observed quietly.
"Need help dealing with him?"
Obito scoffed.
"Doesn't matter if we fight or not. Once this war ends, the fake world will be gone. What comes next will be true peace—a beautiful, ideal world."
Sasuke frowned.
He didn't believe in the Eye of the Moon Plan. To him, it was unnecessary.
He was only using Obito to acquire power—absolute power.
He would kill Naruto, his best friend. Once that bond was severed, he would become emotionless, unstoppable.
He would control all the tailed beasts, destroy the Five Kage, and rule the world.
He would take all the world's hatred upon himself, like his brother Itachi, but instead of doing it in the shadows—he would stand above them all.
The only god in the shinobi world.
He was even prepared to betray Obito, should the time come.
Unfortunately, Sasuke didn't know that Obito, like Madara, always left behind contingency plans.
"Sasuke," Obito said, "let me teach you another seal."
Sasuke looked at him silently.
"This is the Summoning Seal of the Ten-Tails. Let's see if you can control it. If you can, you'll be just like the Sage of Six Paths."
"Really now?" Sasuke said with a flat expression.
"You'll understand once you try."
Obito's Mangekyō Sharingan spun, transferring the seal directly to Sasuke's eye—through visual transmission.
Sasuke absorbed the technique and nodded.
Then, without hesitation, he activated it.
Buzz—!
The Gedo Statue suddenly trembled violently, a sinister hum pulsing from it as if it were about to burst.
Kurama roared:
"No! Naruto, this is the start of the Ten-Tails' resurrection!"
Unlike in his previous life, Naruto was calm.
"I know," he said quietly.
