Welcome to a world where survival demands dying once first.

For a thousand years, humanity has lived under the constant threat of the Calamities monsters born from ether, a mysterious energy that appeared during a long-forgotten cataclysm.

To avoid a lethal overload, every human must consume a daily serum, tightly controlled by the Order.
Without it, death is inevitable.

At sixteen, everyone must face the Awakening, a spiritual trial from which only 30% emerge alive.

Those who survive gain a Resonance, a unique power, and become Initiates the last line of defense against the Calamities.

Sirius is a cynical young hitman from the slums of Astoria.

He seeks neither glory nor power, only a quiet life alongside his twin sister Iris and their friend Lucy.

Everything changes when an embargo on the serum strikes the city, plunging it into chaos.

As the death toll rises, Sirius comes to realize that the true monsters are not always the ones being named.

In the shadows, a sinister conspiracy unfolds: parasites implanted in the brains of Initiates distort their senses and emotions, turning the survivors of the Awakening into obedient instruments, unable to distinguish truth from illusion.

Cornered, Sirius, Iris, and Lucy are left with only one choice: face the Awakening themselves and inherit powers as unpredictable as they are dangerous.

Saving everyone is not their priority.

The Order, the manipulated Initiates, and the Calamities are merely obstacles to bypass or opportunities to exploit as long as it keeps them alive.

But in a world where reality itself can be falsified, how far can one go without becoming the very thing they fight?
