The moment Gaia nodded back at Rael, he didn't hesitate to snap his fingers and open a portal directly to the Depths.
And as the two of them stepped inside, Rael was immediately met with a voice in his head. It wasn't Gaia, but instead, it was Alune.
[What are you doing here?] Alune chimed in. [Didn't I tell you I'll invite you when it's time to go to the Far Lands? It's not even that far away. Only a couple more weeks or so.]
Rael let out a sigh.
I was going to wait, but I don't really have the time now. If you want, you can come along. I haven't seen you in a while, after all.
She paused for a moment, then said:
[My father's going to be very angry.]
So what?
At the moment, Rael was fairly powerful. Obviously, he wasn't arrogant enough to believe that he could just defeat someone like that, but if it came down to it, he was 100% sure he would put up a good enough fight to at least mortally wound him.
Though, that was obviously not the plan.
