Rael just nodded.
He kind of expected something like this.
In the end, there wasn't much more he could do.
"Just so you know, I won't be coming back here," Rael said. "The next time we see each other, we might be on the battlefield. Though who knows, maybe hiding here really is the strategy."
With that, he turned around.
"See you next time, Marlen."
Then he left.
He left Marlen's dimensional shop, and then reappeared back in the normal world.
Before he could contact Alune and relay the news, it seemed like she was already one step ahead of him.
[So he declined?]
Did you hear everything? Rael mused.
[I didn't. I just guessed.] Alune sighed. [He had always been a little lazy, and I would've been extremely surprised if you somehow managed to drag him out of that hellhole. Still, I appreciate your efforts.]
Huh.
Right...
For some reason, he felt like this had already been prearranged.
