Penny was rushing past Violet a little too fast that she accidentally dropped her basket of fruits for Wayne. Being with Sebastian for a while, the sight of the fruits made Violet recalled she actually noticed Sebastian, when he ate light meals, fruits are his go-to as well. She wondered if everyone in the industry does the same since Wayne's assistant was doing the same.
"I'm so sorry! Oh no! Let me help you!" Violet quickly picked up some apples rolling downhill and noticed one or two were spoiled due to the impact.
"Pei Li, right?" Violet asked when she walked back to Penny. Penny nodded with a smile, realising Violet must have met Pei Li before. It was no wonder Penny could instantly could feel a liking towards Violet. Pei Li must have liked her, too.
"Thank you for helping…" Penny quickly said as she wanted to grab the two apples from Violet, but she held them back to herself.
"Can I have these? They are a bit spoiled from the impact." Violet asked while Penny thought for a while.
She nodded upon remembering, packing extra for Wayne the day before.
"Sure. Enjoy…" Penny quickly said before running off cause she knew she was about to strike a deeper conversation with Violet next and Wayne didn't want that.
"Thank you!" Violet yelled back, but Penny forced herself not to turn back. Violet clearly could tell Penny was fond of her, but Penny was acting on the contrary. Violet could only conclude that the job in this industry just made everyone a different person.
Noticing Penny ran back, Wayne was worried as he went up to her and asked discreetly. "What happened? Someone following you?" She shook her head.
"No, no… I just dropped the basket in a rush. There was a nice sister who helped me, and I gave her two apples which spoiled while falling off the basket. We have more than enough for your meals…" Penny explained with a serious face as Wayne nodded.
"Be careful.." He whispered as Penny nodded in return.
Next thing he knew, he saw Violet stepping in and walking towards Sebastian with the two apples Penny mentioned. He told himself he could be a little less hostile towards her, but still, he could not shrug off his suspicions about Sebastian or anyone else at the site.
When the crew were about to start filming, Violet tried to act neutral in order to easily blend in with the other crew members who still had not really known her identity. Being brought up alongside Sam, who had been in the industry for a long while, she picked up a trick or two to look out for gossip this way, even during her HR job.
She had already overheard one of the girl assistant make-up artists say the agency had been giving Sebastian trouble for a year now just because he was not as submissive as the other artists were when it came to the orders of the company. He had lost many jobs because of his company boycott, and his recent divorce saga just made it worse. Violet came to know that his schedules used to be so packed with not just filming or advertisements job but also entertaining their clients that he had no time for his family. It was no wonder that he ended up divorced the girls concluded.
It made sense to Violet now, on the reason his anxiety issues had been lingering too. Violet wondered if his rebellion against his company was his effort to save his marriage but it was unfortunate when Violet recalled that faithful night where Sebastian told Janice, he no longer loved her. It made Violet wondered even more if Janice must have misunderstood Sebastian and the result of their broken marriage was all a result of lack of communication.
As Violet listened in further, she finally understood the reason Sebastian could have gotten this drama was because of a renowned film direction, Director Shin's cooperation with him in his previous blockbusters. With the boosting popularity despite him being the second male lead, his role in the drama was vital. Hence, the agency was making use of the opportunity to squeeze money out of Sebastian's fame. Violet knew it was no doubt Sebastian was trying to find a way out of his agency and Sam's business venture came at a right time.
However, he had to endure the remaining four to five months of contract time left with his current agency and neither can they terminate Sebastian cause the penalty to pay the breach of the contract is not worth it to either party. That gave the agency the chance to exploit Sebastian especially when his recent divorce saga garner a lot of negative attention but yet there were many directors and shows wanting him to participate in their program or movie or drama. In return, the agency tend to make life hard for him with his assistant and manager.
Hearing that, Violet began to worry as this had confirmed her suspicions to be right. Penny overheard the conversation too and noticed Violet's worried face as she trailed closely to the filming site where Violet was heading in.
Violet located the place quickly and saw it was a narrow path Sebastian and Wayne had to stand on. Violet went to the first aid kit box she brought and grabbed some ailment and bandage in case of emergency. She then took a picture of the site before texting Sam to get him to negotiate with the director and crew member if they could use the studio to shoot this scene instead cause from the pictures and videos Violet took, Sebastian was standing so near the cliff with Wayne without any barriers. Violet feared the worse.
Moments later, Sam replied that it was in the filming discussion and that the director had pledged to ensure the actors' and actresses' safety. Violet knew it was pointless at this stage, but she cannot shrugged off her bad feelings about Sebastian's safety.
She stood close by to the director's filming site where they camera focused on both actors. It was fascinating to watch them on camera for the first time. Sebastian was entirely a different person from himself when he was acting. It was as though he had absorbed himself in to the character and giving it life. His heavy leather jacket and make up drawn Violet and many others in anticipation for the first scene to start.
A glance to the side of the cliff made Violet saw an odd figure lurking by the camera. The person's face was covered by his black cap. He was unscrewing one of the cameras which would potentially fall off the cliff, seeing it was on the edge. Violet knew the echo would trigger a landslide recalling signs of being careful as the area was prone to rocks falling down despite having safety nets all around.
Violet instantly sprang into action and hid behind some rocks by the slope instead discreetly.
When Sebastian was about to walk down the steep slope while acting, he noticed Violet was lurking around the corner. Their gazes met as she shook her head to not go any further. Sebastian nearly needed to retake the same scene as he was worried for Violet. Fortunately the director had yelled cut.
Just when Wayne was about to head down the peak close to one of the cameras that was affected, it, as Violet predicted, fell off the cliff. For a moment, everyone was still and silent but the echo and impact was so loud that Sebastian who heard the sounds of rubbles pulled Wayne and Violet away.
Penny was worried as she ran towards all of them, revealing her discreetly trailing Violet earlier. They had no choice but to quickly find a place for refuge cause Violet knew they would not make it on time down the clfif before the rubbles passed them four.
Violet directed them all to an arch for temporary safety.
"Here… stay here first…" Violet instructed as they squatted.
"What are you doing here?" Sebastian scolded in a lower tone
"Keeping you safe! Look, you're lucky the director screamed cut. Else what happens if the camera falls when you're in the midst of filming!" Violet scolded in return softly.
"You don't understand. It's the nature of my job! There are safety measures…" Sebastian retaliated loudly by accident due to his agitation. Violet was fuming in anger.
"Do you know how many things were out of order! Why are you even giving in to this agency?" Violet raised her voice a little as some rubble began to fall again. She instantly pulled him to run towards the other exit.
"Stop stop… softer!" Wayne warned while gripping Penny's hand tightly as they moved a little down back to the safety net site.
They had to walk along the shaded path to avoid the rubble as Sebastian began to wonder was there really a sabotage earlier.
"Where are we heading? Are you sure this is the way?" Sebastian asked Violet who was leading them all urgently.
"Seb, you need to get out more to trust your instinct of survival.. Look, the sign says heading to the exit, isn't that where we should be?" Sebastian realised he was too distracted by the events earlier to pay attention to the dangerous situation he was in as everyone continued to follow Violet's lead.
