Rhodes indulged them with their little tribunal again. He sat on the only vacant seat across from Verde. Ishtar and Frieda sat closest to him. The doctor only kept his smile as he was faced with children. He crossed his legs and leaned his chin on his fist. "What are my charges this time?"
The girls looked at one another. Knox moved to lean his elbows on his knees. "Let's establish your role in what happened to Michelle, Dr Huxley."
"I caught her. I identified her."
Rhodes couldn't help but laugh. He didn't know where this strange joy was coming from. It was as if playing a game while discussing important matters. Did this mirror a phase of his life in high school? He didn't think someone could act loftily like this in Wester-Coles University. He was also drawn to be a serious individual by then.
Knox hummed. "So… you don't deny being in league with those spirit hunters? How deep are you in their operations, Dr Huxley? What do you do for them?"
