Chapter 98 - Chapter 97

At this moment, Orochimaru emerged from the shadows behind the three Rain Shinobi.

"What?!" The three turned in shock, but before they could react, Orochimaru struck, knocking them unconscious with a swift kick.

Removing their forehead protectors, he leaped down from the tree and tossed them to Naruto. With that, every ninja from a village other than Konoha had been eliminated.

Naruto closed his umbrella, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.

"As expected, Konoha is the strongest during this period."

Even without powerhouses like the First Hokage, Second Hokage, or Madara Uchiha, Konoha's mid-tier combat force was unmatched. The village was built on the foundation of powerful clans that had been gathered during the Warring States era.

Compared to the other villages, they simply couldn't compete.

As for the higher-ups, the Third Hokage was still in his prime, and his strength was on par with the best of other villages. After all, there were only two reincarnations of Asura and Indra at a time—most others were just ordinary shinobi.

"But..." Naruto turned to look at Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru. "There's something off about our supposed 'main criminals' here…"

They were still Genin, but their performance was too sloppy. He wasn't even sure when the three of them had gotten back on their feet.

He glanced at Tsunade. No, she always relied on brute strength…

With that, the group found a place by the river to set up camp, waiting for the exam to conclude.

By the time the test was set to end, Hatake Sakumo and the Hyūga "White-Eyed Wolf" team were already waiting at the designated location.

As Naruto and his group emerged, White-Eyed Wolf snorted and turned away.

Sakumo, however, smiled warmly. "You guys made it."

Naruto returned the smile with narrowed eyes.

Jiraiya scoffed from the side, muttering, "Guys who squint all the time are always up to something…"

Naruto and Sakumo both turned their heads to stare at him.

Jiraiya instantly felt a chill run down his spine.

As they waited, the examiner looked at the remaining teams and sighed. "This is going to be a problem."

Even though the candidates had signed life-and-death waivers, the fact that every village except Konoha had been wiped out would undoubtedly cause diplomatic tension. As expected, the representatives from the other villages stormed out in anger, declaring that Konoha had rigged the exams.

And so, the third exam fell apart just like that.

Konoha Training Field

Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and Tsunade panted heavily, staring at Naruto, who remained completely unscathed. Frustration was clear on their faces.

Naruto chuckled. "You guys are still too weak. How about I teach you something interesting?"

He pulled out a dusty old scroll and tossed it to Orochimaru.

"This is a martial art passed down from the Sage of Six Paths!" Naruto declared, his face serious. "If you master it, you could even gain immortality!"

Orochimaru's eyes widened, hands trembling as he unrolled the scroll, eager to read its contents.

But the first page read:

Written by the Sage of Six Paths, this technique is purely fictional. Any resemblance to real techniques is purely coincidental. Please do not attempt—

Orochimaru's face went blank.

Naruto coughed awkwardly, hurriedly pulling out another scroll. "Oops, wrong one. Here's the real deal."

Orochimaru ignored his excuse, continuing to devour the information on the second scroll. The further he read, the more fascinated he became. Concepts of cultivating energy, body refinement, and life extension were laid out in ways he had never seen before.

Jiraiya, noticing his reaction, eagerly nudged Naruto. "What about me?! What do I get to learn?!"

Naruto smirked and raised a hand.

A ball of chakra slowly formed, and with a twist of his wrist, wind infused into it. A massive spiraling shuriken-like technique emerged in his palm.

Jiraiya's jaw dropped. "What the hell is that?!"

Naruto hurled it across the training field. The moment it struck the ground—BOOM!

The entire field shook with the explosion.

"Holy sh—!" Jiraiya practically leaped backward. "That's some next-level stuff! Teach me, teach me!"

Orochimaru, still fixated on his scroll, muttered, "If it doesn't grant me immortality, I don't care."

Naruto rolled his eyes, then turned to Tsunade. Unlike the others, she wasn't begging for a new technique—she was simply staring at him, her eyes burning with curiosity.

Smiling, Naruto pulled out two ornate hairpins, gently placing them in Tsunade's hair.

She blinked in surprise, touching them. "What's this?"

Naruto gave her a knowing smirk. "Just wait. You'll see."

Then, he grabbed Jiraiya and whispered something in his ear before walking away.

At first, Tsunade blushed. Then, her expression turned to confusion.

Suddenly, she felt a surge of chakra flowing from her body into the hairpins. The ornaments shimmered, splitting into six tiny glowing figures of different colors.

A strange sense of enlightenment filled her mind. "This... this is a Kekkei Genkai technique?!"

Tsunade watched the tiny energy figures swirl around her, a bright smile spreading across her face.

From a distance, Naruto observed, feeling satisfied.

"I almost forgot I had this ability from an old system reward," he mused. "Good thing I finally put it to use."

Even Aizen had once commented on this technique, saying: Its level of reality manipulation is dangerously close to the domain of gods.

While Tsunade's chakra wouldn't reach the level of divine rejection, this ability would definitely put her on par with some of the strongest shinobi in history.

As Naruto contemplated, Jiraiya tugged at his sleeve, eyes shining with excitement. "Hey, hey! Are we doing this training or what?!"

Naruto sighed, forming another chakra sphere. "Fine. First step—gather chakra into your palm and rotate it. Try it."

"Watch and learn!" Jiraiya said confidently, gathering chakra in his hand. A gust of wind swirled around them, but—

Poof!

The chakra dissipated harmlessly.

Jiraiya scratched his head. "Uh… whoops. Let me try again."

Naruto groaned, waving him off. "Forget it. Just go buy some balloons."

Jiraiya blinked. "Balloons? What do we need those for?! Stop playing around and just teach me the jutsu!"

Naruto's eye twitched. "Do you want to learn it or not?!"

Jiraiya grumbled but took off towards the village.

Naruto turned back to Tsunade, watching as she spoke to the tiny chakra figures floating around her. Activating his Sharingan, he examined them more closely.

From his perspective, he could see six ethereal women surrounding Tsunade, each glowing a different color.

Naruto smirked. "Well? You like it?"

Tsunade flushed, then suddenly leaned in, planting a quick kiss on his cheek before running off to practice.

Naruto blinked, then turned to see Orochimaru smirking at him.

Tsunade, now flustered, snapped, "What are you looking at?! Keep staring, and I'll smash you into the ground!"

Naruto sighed. "A woman in love is supposed to be gentle… Damn it, Jiraiya, you lied to me."

At that moment, Jiraiya came running back, a giant sack slung over his shoulder.

"Alright! I got the balloons! Now teach me that jutsu!"

Naruto turned to look.

Behind Jiraiya… were massive hot air balloons.

Naruto's eye twitched. "...What the hell is this?!"
