The galleon Alaric and Reuben boarded didn't waste any time and sailed right away after restocking their storage and doing their business.

Captain Edward Oldgate upheld his promise in giving out food to the people in the steerage. The people thanked Alaric as there were lots of them who started to experience the symptoms of scurvy.

The blonde mingled with the people within the ship, from crewmen to passengers, be it wealthy or poor.

A week has passed by and the winds were stable as the galleon has now docked in the harbor of Barceno (Barcelona).

'Barcelona has yet to have its innovative urban planning,' Alaric surveyed the city, noting the sturdy stone buildings with their pointed arches and intricate facades, reflecting the prevailing Gothic architectural style.'It's still quite nice, a bit bigger than Bristol...'

As the passengers of the galleon disembarked themselves, new ones started to arrive.

Reuben already left the galleon to see if there were books around the city to buy despite his starving purse.

"Oh really? How'd you do that?"

"Didn't have do to anything! That's why-"

As Alaric was talking to a random passenger with the same destination he had, someone caught his eye.

A hooded woman stood near the edge of the crowd, cloaked in a distinct mix of elegance and danger.

Her fitted white corset, adorned with silver embroidery, hugged her torso giving her a sexy look. Black, billowy sleeves puffed from beneath polished pauldrons shaped like fanged beasts, giving her a regal yet intimidating silhouette.

Her slim waist was cinched with belts that held pouches and a small dagger, and from the angle Alaric was standing, he could clearly spot a narrow blade discreetly strapped beneath her left iron bracer.

Discreetly… right.

Alaric's lips twitched into a half-smirk. She wasn't even trying to hide it. Not really.

The more he looked, the more obvious it became. That pristine white hood drawn just low enough to shadow her eyes, the crimson ribbon tied at her collar... a pop of color no ordinary traveler would dare wear if they were actually trying to blend in, and the polished black boots that gleamed like they'd been cleaned after a kill… it all screamed assassin.

'Now that I think about it,' Alaric mused inwardly, 'assassins' outfits are so obvious. They're literally screaming for attention. Jonathan too...'

He wasn't sure if it was arrogance or tradition, but it was almost laughable how theatrical they all looked. Their fashion sense screamed 'LOOK AT ME!'.

'She's also beautiful,' Alaric thought as he sees her walking towards a certain destination. Seeing as she was reaching for the door handle of the room beside his and Reuben's, Alaric smirked. '...but a gauche...'

Why gauche?

The woman opened the door and went inside immediately.

Then... the door opened again as the woman got out with a blush of embarrassment.

"They definitely told me it was the corner room..." The woman muttered as she scratched her cheek.

"Who's that?"

Alaric smiled as Reuben finally emerged behind him.

"I don't know... saw her just now," The blonde replied, as they see the woman muttering to herself.

"Anyways... I'm off to read," Reuben sighed, carrying a stack of books in his left hand, obscuring his left side.

He approached the door to their room, reaching for the knob, but his eyes widening as his hand brushed against another.

Startled, Reuben looked up, his gaze meeting that of the woman. Her hood had fallen back slightly, revealing striking features... piercing eyes, a delicate nose, and full, inviting lips. Time seemed to slow as he took in her beauty, his heart racing unexpectedly.

"Excuse me, I think this is my room..." she said calmly while her voice was smooth and composed.

Alaric, witnessing the exchange, couldn't suppress a grin, 'HEH! HEHEHEHE!'

"Ah... yes..." Reuben didn't know what to say as the woman's statement didn't seem to register in his mind. He could only nod his head as the woman looked at him for a second before going inside and locking the door.

Reuben's mouth then dropped as he was finally able to think properly. The woman just went inside their room.

He then got this weird feeling, it felt like someone was planning something evil. He turned his head towards a grinning Alaric as their eyes met.

"No... 'Laric, stop," Reuben immediately reprimanded the blonde, then sighed. 'I should probably tell her that she has the wrong room...'

"HEHEHEHEHEHEHE!"

Annoyed at the blonde's antics, Reuben grabbed the door knob and turned it. Not being able to control his strength, the knob turned despite being locked, breaking the knob's mechanism.

Reuben widened his eyes, but it was too late. The door opened, revealing a woman that was staring at him with widened eyes.

This was normally okay.

However... she was undressing herself.

Like 80% undressed.

Neither of them could even react as both of them were in disbelief. Their eyes locked on one another before Reuben saw the woman's face transitioning from shocked to screaming.

"KYAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!"
