"Dragon Slayer Secret Art: Soaring Strike…!"
After replenishing her magic by absorbing the air, Wendy spread her arms wide.
The wind around her roared as it spun violently, forming a massive wind barrier that enclosed both her and Sherria within.
"A wind barrier?" Sherria looked around in surprise.
"I'm trapped inside?"
"Sky Drill!!"
Wendy shouted, and as if obeying her command, the swirling wind barrier compressed, gathering into her hands.
With a powerful swing, she unleashed a massive shockwave of wind that seemed capable of piercing the sky itself.
The devastating attack struck Sherria, sending her flying through the air before she finally crashed to the ground.
Wendy stood there, breathing heavily, her body trembling and barely able to stay upright.
(I haven't mastered 'Milky Way' yet… This is everything I have… All of my magic…)
She thought to herself as she gazed at Sherria, who lay motionless on the ground.
(Did I overdo it? But… with this…)
The pumpkin-headed referee raised his arm, preparing to declare the match's conclusion.
"Sherria is down—"
"Ah, sorry, hold on just a second!"
A cheerful voice suddenly interrupted him, cutting his announcement short.
Wendy, who had been panting with her head lowered, snapped her gaze up in shock.
There, rising slowly from the ground, was Sherria.
She stood up with a bright, unshaken smile.
"The real fun is just getting started," she said, stretching lightly.
"Phew… You really are amazing, Wendy."
Wendy's pupils dilated slightly in disbelief.
"The wounds on her body… they've all disappeared," Noel observed from the stands, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"I see now."
"You know what's going on?" Gajeel asked curiously, turning toward Noel.
Noel nodded with a serious expression.
"Yeah. I was wondering why, despite using sky-based magic like Wendy, Sherria hadn't shown any support abilities. It turns out her support magic manifests as self-healing. As long as she has enough stamina and magic power, she can continuously keep her body in perfect condition. This match… isn't looking good for Wendy."
"What an incredible girl," Mirajane remarked with a slightly more serious expression.
"Since Ishu is so strong on his own, we've never actually seen him use this ability before. This really caught us off guard," Laxus added, his expression turning more focused.
Even though Sherria's healing ability wasn't at a level where she could threaten him, if it were Ishu with this power… that would be a different story.
Over at the Lamia Scale stands, Jura shook his head slightly. "I told her to go all out."
"She's still holding back," Yuka said with a helpless sigh.
Beside him, Toby couldn't help but exclaim, "Just how strong is she?!"
In the arena, Sherria looked at Wendy, who was panting heavily and struggling just to stay on her feet.
With concern in her voice, she asked, "Are you okay? Do you want to surrender?"
Wendy, however, only continued to catch her breath without responding.
But her eyes had already given Sherria the answer.
"Wendy..." Doranbolt muttered worriedly as he watched her from the stands.
At that moment, a cloaked figure passed directly behind Doranbolt, apologizing as they moved through the crowd.
Doranbolt felt a strange sense of familiarity and turned to glance at the figure, murmuring in confusion, "That person... why do they seem so familiar?"
The cloaked figure was none other than Jellal, who had arrived at Crocus.
As he watched Sherria in the arena, he clenched his fists and murmured to himself, "Sherria... I never expected a girl like her to be connected to dark magic. This isn't good—at this rate, Wendy will be in danger."
With that thought, Jellal hesitated.
He wanted to find a way to stop the battle, but then he noticed Doranbolt nearby.
Realizing he couldn't act recklessly, he cursed inwardly, (Damn it, a Council member? At a time like this...!)
...........
"You... you're not going to surrender?" Sherria tilted her head slightly as she looked at Wendy.
"I... don't dislike fighting, but I think one-sided violence in a battle where the outcome is already decided is devoid of love. You can surrender if you want, okay?"
"I can't do that," Wendy responded in a soft yet resolute voice.
"Standing here means... I've made up my mind to fight for my guild. I don't need sympathy. Until I can no longer stand, until I can no longer move—please, come at me with everything you've got. I beg you!!"
Sherria was momentarily taken aback.
After a brief silence, a small smile slowly formed on her lips.
"Yeah, that would be the polite thing to do!"
"Yes." Wendy nodded firmly.
"Well then... this time, it's my turn to go all out!!" Sherria's hands were once again wrapped in black whirlwinds.
"I'll end this with one strike!"
Hearing Sherria's words, Wendy's gaze sharpened.
She didn't blink, keeping her eyes fixed on Sherria's movements.
"When someone gives their all, you should respond in kind with everything you've got! That is love!!!" Sherria raised both hands high, and the black winds sharpened into fierce, razor-like gales, swirling violently.
"God Slayer Secret Art..."
"Heaven's Gathering Clouds!"
The violent rotating black wind roared past Wendy's ear, its powerful currents lifting her hair.
"She dodged it? No... it was off target," Laxus raised an eyebrow slightly.
"While Sherria's magic allows her to heal her wounds, it seems she can't restore her stamina," Noel commented indifferently.
"On the other hand, Wendy's magic may not grant her self-recovery, but it can restore her opponent's stamina."
"So, Wendy actually restored her opponent's stamina?"
"And because of that, Sherria's control over her magic has become unstable," Noel said with a faint smile at the corner of his lips.
"Clever move, Wendy."
In the arena, Sherria also realized what had happened and spoke in surprise, "So that was your strategy... Impressive!"
"Sky Dragon's Crushing Fang!"
Seizing the opportunity, Wendy dashed forward, her hand wrapped in fierce winds, forming a claw-like shape.
She struck Sherria, who was caught off guard and unable to evade in time.
"That was amazing, Wendy!" Sherria praised before launching herself back into the battle.
"This is truly an incredible showdown! Neither of them is backing down!" Chapati exclaimed in shock as he watched Wendy and Sherria engage in close combat.
"These small fists clashing with such intensity—is this their devotion to their guilds?"
"Such small fists, yet carrying such unwavering determination... Wendy, you've grown," Noel murmured to himself.
