"Spare me? You think you're capable of that?"
Magneto's eyes were filled with disdain.
A cold gleam flashed in the old man's eyes — even Odin wouldn't dare act so arrogantly before him.
"Courting death!"
A wave of green fear energy burst out from his hand.
Erik extended both arms, unleashing thick, white magnetic beams from his hands.
Green and white energies clashed, light bursting in every direction as a terrifying energy shockwave rippled outward.
To the Serpent's surprise, his fear energy was ruthlessly overpowered in a single exchange by Erik's magnetic beams.
After all, space was Erik's true domain — not just Earth's magnetic field, but even the Moon's magnetic field could be drawn upon by him.
The Serpent's expression turned grim. With his current, yet-to-be-fully-restored strength, he was no match for Erik.
BOOM!
The energy from both sides exploded violently.
Gritting his teeth, the Serpent endured the damage from the blast, quickly reaching out to grab two of the [Fangs of the Serpent] before hurriedly opening a portal to escape the battlefield in utter disgrace.
Erik reacted instantly. Just as the Serpent vanished, he shot his remaining magnetic energy into the portal after him.
Then, Erik turned his head toward the Pacific Ocean. He could sense the precise location of his magnetic energy.
"On Earth?"
With five of the [Fangs of the Serpent] in hand, Erik flew toward Earth at supersonic speed.
———
The Serpent, still looking disheveled and gripping the two hammers, appeared above a massive evil dragon.
"Father, look out!"
Skadi, seeing the trailing white beam of light behind him, didn't hesitate. She raised her warhammer high, and black lightning immediately enveloped it like a dark meteor streaking down to collide with the beam.
BOOM!
The resulting explosion sent a huge shockwave outward, raising waves in the ocean dozens of meters high and blasting Sin away.
The Serpent, seeing this, grabbed Sin mid-air and immediately opened another portal to escape the dangerous scene.
A few seconds later...
Erik arrived in the sky above with the five hammers. Gazing down at the swirling vortex of ocean water and the headless corpse of a massive dragon, he muttered:
"Ran off pretty fast."
Shaking his head, Erik accepted that he couldn't chase someone with portal abilities. He turned to fly toward the Devil Corporation to report back — but after a few seconds, he returned to fish out the headless dragon corpse.
"Maybe the scientists will like this thing. Could be worth something."
———
Later, when Kino woke up and entered the lab at Devil Corporation...
A group of scientists had five iron hammers laid out in front of them.
"You're here, young master," Otto greeted him.
"Yeah. How's the research going?" Kino asked with a nod.
"These hammers are very similar to Mjolnir, made from Uru metal. They can grant great power to their wielders," Otto explained.
"However, there are conditions. The user must possess some degree of evil or malevolence. Weak-bodied users will be destroyed instantly. Additionally, there's the side effect of a second personality emerging, which can completely replace the original one."
After several hours of experimentation, they'd figured out the basic usage requirements of the hammers.
"A second personality, huh? Let me try one."
Kino casually picked up one of the [Fangs of the Serpent].
In the next instant, golden lightning erupted from the hammer and surged across Kino's body.
An ancient, heavy bronze armor instantly formed around him.
Kruth the Stonebreaker.
"The strength... is just average."
Kino evaluated calmly as he felt the power surging inside him.
By his standards, the boost wasn't much. But he knew that if Captain America wielded this hammer, he could probably fight a base-level Abomination on equal footing.
Clearly, the power amplification of these hammers was formidable.
"Destroy everything. Spread fear across the world."
Suddenly, an icy and malicious voice rang in Kino's mind.
"Who dares intrude on my domain?"
Venom's voice followed instantly, causing the previous voice to disappear.
"What are you up to this time?"
"Messing around with a big hammer," Kino replied with a smirk.
"Fear energy, huh? The Serpent came out already?"
"Well, this world's plot has long gone off the rails."
Kino put down the hammer, and the armor vanished.
"What do you plan to do with these hammers?"
Venom emerged as well and grabbed one of the [Fangs of the Serpent]. Since Venom met the requirements, his clothing turned into a purple suit of armor.
Kino thought for a moment. The hammer's power boost was useful, but it also carried the risk of mind control. On top of that, since the hammers were created from the Serpent's essence, they'd likely become useless once he died.
"I have a proposal, boss," Killian suddenly spoke up.
"Let's hear it," Kino said.
"We discovered that the energy inside these hammers closely resembles Yellow Lantern energy. We might be able to extract it and create an entirely new kind of Yellow Lantern Ring," Killian explained. He was in charge of the Yellow Lantern furnace project and was amazed that another world had such a potent energy source.
"I like that. The hammers are yours to experiment with."
Kino nodded in agreement.
Just then, Stark wheeled over a food cart.
"Boss, Venom's here too — perfect. The steaks are ready. Let's eat."
Otto, using his mechanical limbs, distributed the food. Everyone dug in immediately — none of them had eaten lunch yet, and they knew their boss was easygoing and wouldn't mind.
Kino also didn't hold back. He grabbed a plate and took a bite. The meat was juicy, tender, and the seasoning was perfect. He quickly polished off the first plate and reached for a second.
"Stark, what kind of meat is this? I've never had anything like it."
"Dragon meat," Stark replied casually.
"Dragon meat? No wonder it tast— Wait, what dragon?!"
Kino froze, eyes wide in disbelief.
"Erik brought it in this morning. We checked — no toxins. It's safe," Stark explained, thinking Kino was worried about food safety.
The rest of the team continued enjoying the meal. The mythical dragon meat tasted incredible — better than anything they'd ever eaten.
Zola's eyes briefly flashed with data streams. Looking at his colleagues devouring the meal, he spoke with a tinge of sympathy.
"I just checked. In the East, dragons are totems — divine creatures. Some Easterners even view themselves as descendants of dragons."
And their boss… was Eastern.
Quote of the Chapter:"In a world of gods and monsters, even a dragon becomes dinner when power is on the menu."
