Gin stood before the portal leading back to London, silently observing its shifting currents of faint light and magic.
His senses sharpened as he tried to discern any new insight—anything that could further his understanding of the portals between worlds.
However, as expected, nothing revealed itself. This portal differed from the one that had brought him to the Shadow Realm. The one over there continuously absorbed and cycled mana, while this one did not.
What Gin wanted to test today was a theory: Could he use the portal to travel not just between worlds but between cities? If he cleared his mind entirely, perhaps the portal would respond to his will.
Or maybe he needed to strongly visualize his intended destination.
'Maybe I should visit another city first to get a better sense of how this works,' he mused.
