Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Ricky has set up his apparatus to test his climate seeds.

He was about to set off a tent when he saw a yacht approaching in the distance.

"Shhh!" Ricky said to Cyrus.

He immediately tidied up the equipment.

He assembled his weather cannon and placed it in a suitcase. In another suitcase, the climate seeds were placed, smaller than the container for the weather cannon.

They noticed that the yacht was getting closer and closer to the island.

The island is small because it is manmade, a project created by the del Prado siblings. Fishing is prohibited in that area, so no fishermen end up there. Due to the small size of the island and the few trees that have grown here, it is enough for it to be seen from afar.

From the island, you can see the shanties standing by the sea, but in the distance, the large house of Francisco del Prado is noticeable, located 500 meters from the shore. And the house of Ricky del Prado, which is only one kilometer away from the house of Cyrus and 850 meters from the shoreline. The island measures only 120 m², that's how small it is. On the island, there are also large chunks of rock.

The yacht docked on the island, and a man carrying an M16 rifle got off. Ricky and his nephew quickly hid behind the large rocks.

A man carrying a gun approached them. It was only about seven meters away from where they were, so Cyrus couldn't help but feel nervous. Ricky drew his gun and cocked it.

They saw the man put his gun on the ground, then take off his pants, relieve himself, and leave immediately afterward.

"The smell is terrible," said Cyrus.

"Wait, don't go out yet," Ricky stopped his nephew.

While one yacht was leaving, another yacht arrived, and a man took out a telescope, looking from afar at the del Prado house.

"Why are they checking our houses? Confuse Cyrus asked himself.

"What are they doing, uncle? Who are they?" Cyrus innocently asked.

"I'll explain later," Ricky replied. And he holstered his gun again.

Ricky pushed aside the rock and saw a button hidden there, then pressed it. The ground opened, revealing the door of the underground elevator.

In the underground laboratory, the briefcases containing Ricky's weather cannon and climate seeds were placed back and hidden.

"The situation is already dangerous like that. Let's keep all of this a secret, don't tell anyone, not even your mom or your aunt," Ricky said to Cyrus.

The teenager just nodded.

"I'm leaving for now, I'll come back when everything is okay," said Ricky.

He pressed a password on the door, and the tunnel opened. They both rode back to their house with Cyrus. The tunnel leading to Ricky's house is also two kilometers long, but before they could even reach the end, their vehicle stopped like a small train car.

Ricky pressed something and a metal staircase descended from above. He pressed something again, and the top of the passage opened.

"Climb up quickly!" Ricky ordered Cyrus.

Cyrus immediately acted and quickly climbed the stairs as if being chased.

"Remember, this is just between us. Don't tell anyone," Ricky instructed

Cyrus just nodded.

As soon as he climbed the stairs and exited through the door, it immediately closed behind him. He wondered why Ricky didn't come up with him.

He looked around and then noticed that he was in their courtyard.

"If that's the case, the tunnel from Uncle Ricky's house to ours and from here to the island is connected to our house," he said to himself.

"Ayy! You're here, kid! I've been looking for you everywhere. You leave without even saying goodbye, and you didn't even eat your breakfast. Ma'am is going to be mad at me because of what you did, and you'll get skinny if you don't eat and might even get sick. Oh no! Oh no! Kid, don't leave me here!"

Tess, his nanny, chattered endlessly.

This is a big and plump woman.

Cyrus quickened his pace even more to leave Tess was followed behind.

"Señora!

Señora!

Señora!

Señora!

Cyrus is here!" Tess shouted.

"I saw him coming from the back, from underground," Tess reported. She saw Cyrus coming out from a hole in the ground.

"Under?" Maurice asked. Just coming down the stairs and dressed in a doctor's uniform. He was carrying a shoulder bag.

"Ah, under the shade of the tree, ma'am," Tess replied.

"Where have you been, dear? I've been asking your nanny to find you because you left again without having breakfast," Maurice said lovingly to his child.

"I was just getting some fresh air at the back of the house, mom," Cyrus replied.

"That's all there is to it, come on, give mama a kiss. I'm going to work now," Maurice said hurriedly.

Cyrus kissed her cheek

"My monico is really sweet, alright 'bye for now, my child. It will be a long time again before we see each other. " said Maurice with tears welling up due to longing as she waved her farewell.

"Eh, Dad, when will he be back?" asked Cyrus as he remembered before his mom could leave him.

Maurice sighed before he could speak. It seems like he is holding back his anger.

"I don't know, child, I still don't know, alright then. I'm leaving." she said.

"Okay, ma'am, take care," Tess said.

"Alright boy, eat your breakfast, it will go to waste if you don't eat it. It will spoil. It's already set on the table," Tess said to Cyrus.

"It's time to eat, nanny," Cyrus said, already getting annoyed with Tess.

In another part, Dr. Mike is the one responsible for the disappearance of some important belongings belonging to Ricky del Prado. Dr. Mike is also known by the alias Dr. Mouse. Currently, they are at a farm to conduct the first test of his weather cannon.

"Hehehehe," laughed Dr. Mouse while assembling the weather cannon that he copied from Ricky's blueprint.

And when he finished and completed the weather cannon, they placed the bullet at the mouth of the cannon. What they loaded was the yellow climate seed that they also stole—the thunderstorm seed.

He had three accomplices, his three subordinates, and a spy in Ricky's house who stole the missing items.

He tapped the weather cannon, its mouth lit up as if about to fire, but then it suddenly died.

"Oh no, it's dead!" exclaimed Dr. Mouse.

"Do you have any spare batteries?" he asked his three companions, who were still wearing masks to avoid being recognized if anyone happened to see them. Their masks were plain, without any designs, just black.

One by one, they gave batteries to Dr. Mouse.

"What is this, a flashlight battery? This won't do. This one is a cellphone battery? This won't do either. And this one, oh my! A car battery? You guys have no manners!" Then he slapped each of the staff one by one.

Good thing they had iron masks, so Dr. Mouse's palm turned red and he was the one who got hurt.

"Uh, charger, do you have one? Let's just charge it in the car," Dr. Mouse asked again.

"None!" the three answered in unison.

"You are all useless!" and he was about to slap the three of them again but he didn't continue because his hand was already hurting.

"Who told you to wear iron masks?" He angrily asks.

"Uh, nothing, we just thought of it," one of them replied.

"Yes," agreed the other two.

Dr. Mouse's cellphone rang.

"Oh, how did your test go?" asked the caller to Dr. Mike, a.k.a. Dr. Mouse, because he usually tests his inventions on mice, so he has many pet mice.

"Ah eh, we'll do it the next day, boss. The cannon needs to be recharged." he replied.

"Hayst, you should hurry up with that before I find a customer who will buy it," the boss ordered.

"Yes boss, I'm going to make a weather tank hehehehe, bigger than the weather cannon. Hehehehe"

"Do it, don't just say it!" the boss ordered again.

"Yes boss!" Dr. Mike replied, and the call was cut off.
