As soon as Cashew Crouched down next to a body, he noticed the Wolf pelt was already missing from on top the dresser, he smirked, assuming the girl took it.
Cashew started searching the body he was crouched next to, Adult #1, looking for anything magic related on him. While searching, He asked...
Cashew: So, what's your name? I don't know if I said mine yet, but I'm Cashew. My mother named me after her favorite food item, one of them, at least.
Cashew Didn't hear a response from the girl, so he assumed she didn't wanna answer.
On Adult #1's Body, things of potential interest that Cashew found would be a Long sword, a Diary of sorts, some Alcohol and 74 Copper coins. Cashew put these items on the table next to his Wolf Skin bag and moved on to Adult #3, the next closest body.
Cashew: I got a Wolf leg. Meat. Food. Once I'm done with searching the bodies, I can cook it, you're welcome to eat too if you want. It's been sitting out for a while, but it should still be edible once cooked.
Saying this, The girls head peeked from behind the dresser, She's wearing the Wolf pelt like a hoodie, her stomach growled, echoing across the entire house, it wasn't even a bedroom house, just 1 mefium sized room, but it still echoed. The girl blushed and his behind the dresser again.
Cashew: Heh... They don't feed you, huh?... Well, I won't force you, but if you're hungry now, you're welcome to cook the meat while I search for things I want off the bodies. Gotta cook it, though. You could get sick eating it raw.
Cashew Waited a moment, the girl didn't get up, so Cashew assumes she doesn't wanna cook, but he heard her stomach growl again.
Cashew: *Sigh* I can cook and loot at the same time...
Cashew walked over to the night stand that was destroyed by Adult #3's spell, picked up the wood, and looked around for a place to cook.
Cashew: *Sigh* gotta cook outside, huh?... Fine.
Cashew put some of the night stand wood down and carried smaller pieces outside, looking for some grass or leaves to start a fire, but it was all wet from the snow. Sighing again, Cashew came back inside and looked at the girl.
Cashew: You know if anything dry and flammable in here?
The girl shook her head and hid her face in the Wolf pelt, seemingly afraid Cashew might hit her, which he didn't.
Cashew: I see... Thank you. You might have to wait on the Wolf meat, then. Can't start a fire to cook without something dry and flammable. I never learned fire magic, so unless one of these guys has a spell book for fire magic, we will have to wait.
The girl not enjoying the idea of waiting, Seemed to whisper something that Cashew heard, but didn't understand.
Cashew: Hm? Im sorry, I couldn't hear you. I'm gonna get closer to you so I can hear better.
Cashew slowly approached the dresser, staying on the other side of it so it remains in between him and the girl, listening for her to repeat herself.
Girl: in....here....
Cashew thinks he heard her, but not wanting to make her repeat herself, decided to assume.
Cashew: I assume you said "In here" and I assume you're talking about the dresser separating us, so I'm gonna open the drawers and look in them. I'll count to 5 before I open the drawer to give you a warning, though.
Cashew did exactly as he said, he slowly counted to 5, Opened a drawer, closed it after not seeing anything, counted to 5 again and opened another drawer, closing it after seeing it's empty, Rinse and repeat on all 6 drawers until he got to the final drawer. When he reached the Final drawer, he noticed that there were several items in it, two small books, a strange Rock, a Dagger and another bottle with a liquid he doesn't recognize. The same liquid he saw in the past in the evidence evidence chest at the village jail.
He pulled out the two small books first, glancing through one of them to realize it was a Log of sorts, Cashew wasn't sure what to call it, a Diary? No... It had details on things they stole. Cashew checked the other book and realized it was a spell book. The spells inside it are all random, with no common theme among any of them. Some were elemental spells, some were illusion, others were defensive, the spells had no common theme beyond being considered simple.
Cashew: When you mentioned these books, were you trying to say that there is a Fire based spell in the book or were you trying to say that the books could be burned?- right... You're too scared to talk... Tap on the dresser 1 time if there is a flame spell the book. Tap on the dresser 2 times if you were suggesting burning the books.
After a full minute of silence, Cashew heard her tap on the Dresser 1 time, the time he waited he honestly could have spent searching himself, but he decided to let her say what she meant.
Cashew: Thank you.
Cashew started looking through the book for any spells fire related. As he looked, Cashew thought about the girl. He thinks he's being patient with her, you can't force someone out of trauma, but he can't help but wonder if he's being too aggressive with her. He thinks he's being too aggressive, so he decided he will stop speaking to her or trying to make small talk and only speak if necessary.
Cashew looked through the spell book and found a fire based Spell. Fire Ball. Not wanting to burn the house down,Cashew went outside and practiced the spell, aiming in the sky. After about 2 minutes of practice, Cashew was able to Cast Fire Ball. It's not a Typical FireBall you'd see in fantasy, but a Ball of Fire you can create in your hand, Shape, and launch... Which sounds exactly like a typical Fireball from fantasy. Cashew cast it in the sky once to get a feel of what it's like, such as how big it is and whatnot.
Feeling comfortable with the spell, Cashew came back inside, grabbed some wood from the destroyed night stand and headed back outside, the girl felt betrayed that he wasn't giving her a warning before moving like he was previously and she was now terrified again, afraid he was angry and was gonna start hitting her like the previous men did. Cashew doesn't realize it at all that he's undoing what little progress he made with her.
Cashew used the Fireball spell to light up the night stand wood he has, starting a fire in the snow about 7 Feet away from the house to the right, near the edge where the hill is. Cashew maintained the fireball while adding more night stand wood to it until the fire was steady and strong. Cashew Went back inside and grabbed the leg of Wolf meat, cooking it over the fire.
"Who knows how long it's been since the girl ate, she will probably end up eating the entire Wolf leg once I give it to her, I don't mind though. I can just find another animal." Cashew thought as he cooked the Wolf meat.
When he was done cooking the meat, Cashew came inside, looked for something to use as a plate, put the meat on the plate, and slowly put it on the ground near where the girl was hiding.
Cashew: You can have it. It might be a bit bland, though. But it's certainly better than starving.
Cashew turned around and went back to the bodies he was looting. He was now closer to Adult #2's body, so he was gonna start looting him.
After searching his body, items of interest Cashew found included a Spell book, 24 Copper coins, some more of that liquid he doesn't recognize, and a Hip bag. A bag that goes around your hip for holding small things. Cashew put these items on the table with what he found on Adult #1 and in the drawer.
Moving back to Adult #3, the one he's looking forward to the most. Moving towards the body, He immediately finds a Shoulder bag, just like the one he made for himself from Wolf skin, but higher quality, as well as a bit bigger.
He also found a spell book and a book on runes within the bag, a small dagger just like the one his dad gave him, almost as if the two daggers were bought from the same blacksmith. He also found a bag of peanuts, a water skin full of water, and a strange crystal he has never seen before.
The items on the Table that Cashew has found would be a Long Sword, a Dagger, A shoulder bag and a Hip bag, 98 Copper coins total, 3 Spell books and 1 Book on Runes, as well as a strange Rock and a Crystal. Some things of lesser interest would be a Diary and the strange liquid.
The Diary being of little importance for now, Cashew put it aside, deciding to put it in the dresser the girl was hiding behind. The liquid, Cashew didn't care for, but he also saw a similar liquid in the evidence box at his home villages jail, So Cashew was gonna ask a guard at the next village he comes across about it. He assumes there is a village nearby the house he's in, as the adults said they kidnapped the girl from a village, the girl can't be from his village as she is too young and Meredith was supposed to be the youngest person there before Cashew.
Cashew decided to keep the hip bag and the shoulder bag for himself, putting all his books in the shoulder bag and miscellaneous items in his wolf skin bag.
The new Dagger and the dagger he got from his dad looked the same, So Cashew decided that he would take two of the leg hide pieces he had and tie them to the dagger he got from his dad. As for the sword, it's too big for him now, but Cashew could keep it and use it later when he's bigger. Or he could sell it if he needs to.
Cashew wasn't paying attention at first, but he could hear the girl inhaling the food he gave her. Worried she might choke, He grabbed the Water Skin off the table and slowly approached her.
Cashew: I hope you don't choke. Hears a water skin just in case, I don't know whats in it, but I assume water.
Cashew said as he put the waterskin on the floor where he put the plate, which was still there, but the Wolf leg was gone.
Not staying there long, Cashew backed away and went back to the table, looking back and seeing that the Waterskin is gone.
Cashew: I know I'm new to you and you're probably not comfortable with me, but I wish you'd at least tell me your name. I mean, I probably won't use it much anyways, but I'd still like to know.
Cashew Said in a loud enough voice for her to hear, meanwhile he took out the Wolf leg hide from his wolf hide shoulder bag and started tying it to the dagger sheath for the one he got from his dad. After waiting a few minutes, Cashew still got no response.
Cashew: Well, I assume there is a Village nearby, so in a few hours, ill be heading over there, maybe mention these dead guys to a guard if i see one. You can come too if you want.
...
No response...
Cashew stopped what he was doing and looked up with a smile on his face.
Cashew: I got this dagger from my father, so it's a Dadger....
Cashew had a smile on his face, happy with the name he came up for the dagger his dad gave him.
The girl seemed to like it as well, as Cashew heard a small giggle from behind the dresser after he said it.
