Chapter 18 - Blizzard

Tiero, dressed in a red overcoat and a black turtleneck sweater, entered the restaurant, as well as the messenger, Johnny.

Upon entering, he saw that the table where the girls sat were chatting, laughing, and eating joyfully.

But as for the table with the guys, they were eating silently.

Clearing his throat, Tiero shouted, "Attention!"

Everyone immediately stood up and looked towards him, except for Dean, who was still busy eating his fries.

Tiero ignored him, and continued, "Is everyone ready for this mission?"

Then, he heard them all yell, "Yes, sir!"

"Good. For those of you who are in Storm Rank or Shower Rank and below Category 5, this mission will guarantee an advancement," he said as he raised his right arm with a red metal glove, and tapped his fingers on his palm.

Then, a holographic screen appeared in front of him.

In his point of view, he could see everyone's rank, category, and their class-type.

But in the others' point of view, it was blank.

Only Tiero could see it.

After swiftly skimming through everyone's status, Tiero continued, "This mission is expected to take one or two days long, but if everyone does well, it could take less than that."

"Any longer than those two days, and the mission rewards will be decreased. I am expecting great things from you all, and I know you will not disappoint."

"Is that clear?"

Then, Tiero heard them shout once again, "Yes, sir!"

Tiero continued, "371-Tosla-91 is a planet stuck in an eternal blizzard. Extreme cold is to be expected, and everyone is to constantly check the conditions of your comrades. Keep an eye on each other at all times, because you can easily get lost in that blizzard."

"But if you do get lost, you can always look for your teammates in your radar. I can't believe I have to tell you this, but your radar can be found on your watch."

"If you did not bring your watch with you, come to me and I'll provide you with one. Raise your hand if you did not bring a watch." As he finished saying this, no one raised a hand.

"Okay, good. Now, everyone come to me and I will provide you with the Planet Card for Tosla." Tiero gestured for the messenger to come closer, then, the messenger gave him a small box.

The box was blue in color, and there was a logo of Umbrellas on its surface.

He opened it, and there were a total of 11 Planet Cards.

Everyone approached him, forming a line. They all obtained a Planet Card. As for the last and remaining Planet Card, Tiero gave it to the messenger.

After that, Tiero pressed a few buttons on his metal glove. Then, a black umbrella appeared in his hand. He gave this umbrella to the messenger.

Suddenly, one of the Visitors with blue hair, Ashley, asked, "Mr. Tiero, where are we supposed to go once we arrive at Tosla?"

Tiero nodded, giving her a smile. "Good question. Upon arriving at Tosla, the messenger here, Johnny White, will be in charge of you all. He knows where to go, and everyone must follow his orders."

"All of you will enter a castle covered in snow, and inside will be the planet's inhabitant. All the messenger has to do is deliver a message to the most important individual inside that castle. Then, all of you will make a quick exit."

"But if they start showing hostility, try your best to calm the situation down. And if all else fails and they attack, make sure Johnny is unharmed."

"And I don't want anyone missing once you all return to Umbrellas. Is that clear?"

They all nodded, except for Dean, shouting, "Sir, yes, sir!"

Tiero then gestured for the messenger, Johnny, to approach the ten Visitors.

"Is everyone ready?" Tiero asked, his voice as rough as ever.

"Yes!"

Then, everyone inserted the Planet Card into the shaft of their umbrella.

"Be quick and precise. Remember your training, and good luck," Tiero said with a nod.

In an instant, everyone disappeared with a bright flash of light.

He hoped the mission would go well.

With a slight smile, he was about to turn around when he saw the two tables that had many drinks, unfinished food, and plates.

With no one to pay for all of it, Tiero obviously would have to be the one paying. And he had also asked the manager of the restaurant in advance to reserve the place for a while. In exchange, he had to pay the manager 5,000 Galacreds.

His smile froze on his face. He silently whispered to himself, "My bank account…"

371-Tosla-91, the planet of ice.

Eleven people appeared with a flash of light amidst the heavy blizzard.

Some of the Visitors shivered.

They were in the middle of nowhere, and visibility was low.

Suddenly, Vincent shouted, "Okay, everyone, activate your Warmth Barrier!"

Upon hearing his shout, everyone, including Dean, pressed a few buttons on their watch. Then, an invisible barrier appeared, warming their bodies up.

It was technology from Umbrellas called, Warmth Barrier. Its function was to warm up the Visitor's body.

At that moment, the messenger, Johnny, said calmly, "Let's move."

Johnny started walking, and everyone immediately ran towards him, surrounding him.

Then, the messenger asked, "Any Mages here, as well as a Ranger?"

Donovan, Vincent, and Rayman informed him of their class-type. Then, Johnny said, "Donovan, fly ahead of us and check for anything. Take a Ranger with you."

"If you discover anything, and if you think you're capable of handling it, handle it."

Donovan nodded. Then, he looked at Vincent.

Vincent nodded. At that moment, Donovan flipped his umbrella, and so did Vincent. Then, they linked their umbrella's handle, and they both grabbed onto the ends of their umbrella.

Donovan activated his Flight spell, bringing him and Vincent up. They both had a firm and strong grip on the ends of their umbrella.

Since Vincent wasn't exactly a Mage and didn't have a Flight spell, he'd have to use his umbrella to fly, which was very slow.

Donovan flew ahead with Vincent holding onto his umbrella, leaving behind the others.

Johnny asked once again, "Who's the Tank?"

Juliana said to him, "Me."

"Okay, everyone, just tell me your classes," said Johnny with a sigh.

With that, everyone informed him of their class-type, including Dean.

After that, Johnny opened up his watch, making a holographic screen appear in front of him.

Only he could see what was on the screen.

In his point of view, it was a map. And there were blue dots, which represented him and the Visitors surrounding him.

And ahead of the dots were two blue dots, which were Donovan and Vincent.

There were no red dots whatsoever, which meant there were no Annihiliths.

Red dots can only appear on one's map if Annihiliths are confirmed to be on the planet. Then, Umbrellas will mark the Annihiliths, making them visible on the map.

But Johnny had to be sure that there were no Annihiliths whatsoever, so he sent Donovan and Vincent ahead to scout their surroundings.

They all traversed through the snow and the heavy blizzard.

Meanwhile, Donovan was still flying with Vincent hanging down on his umbrella.

Since Vincent was a Ranger-type, he had the ability to see really far, up to 5 kilometers away. And he also had an x-ray vision ability, but it was still at a low level, and it was useless against the heavy blizzard.

Rangers, as the name suggests, is a ranged class. Rangers are terrible at close combat, just like Mages. And they are also exceptional scouts.

As for Donovan, his Flight spell was slowly draining his Umbrella Fuel. Donovan looked down, looking at Vincent, and decided to ask loudly, "Do you see anything?"

"No. Fly lower!" yelled Vincent as he rubbed his eyes with his free hand.

Donovan did as he was told.

After four minutes of flying, they didn't find anything of importance.

The two decided to return to the group, using their radar to locate the others.

Vincent's arm that he was using to hold onto his umbrella was beginning to hurt, plus, Donovan's Umbrella Fuel was dwindling down at a rapid, but still slow pace.

Suddenly, Vincent felt his heart drop to his stomach. Then, he yelled, "Incoming!"

At that moment, he let go of his umbrella, and an arrow went past. If he hadn't let go, his arm would have been pierced by the arrow.

Donovan immediately flew down, and caught Vincent in his arms. Then, Donovan landed on the snow, putting Vincent down and giving him his umbrella.

In an instant, Donovan cast his Barrier spell, and not even five seconds had passed when another arrow came flying towards them, hitting the barrier.

But it had no effect on the invisible barrier whatsoever.

Donovan looked at Vincent, and asked, "Were you able to locate them?"

"No. I need them to shoot another arrow at us one more time, then I might have an idea where they are. Only then can I attempt to fire back," answered Vincent as he readied his umbrella.
