"Ellie, come on. Stop ignoring me—it hurts," Moana said, her voice tight with frustration.

I quickened my pace, refusing to respond, relief washing over me as the neon lights of the bowling alley came into view.

"I invited Noah for your own good," she called after me.

I let out a sharp breath but kept silent.

Just as my hand reached for the door, Moana grabbed my wrist and spun me around to face her. We locked eyes—my glare met by her unyielding determination.

"I'm not wicked," Moana said, her voice trembling.

I frowned. "When did I ever call you wicked?"

"You must think I am. After hearing you cry so many times, you still don't expect me to do anything about it."

"Moana—"

"And when you most likely won't do anything either!" she cut me off, her eyes blazing.

"Noah, Aiden, and you," Moana said firmly. "I don't need to know all the details if you won't tell me, but it doesn't take a genius to figure out what's going on. I invited Noah so you two could talk."
