"Go on," Veylira urged, giving them a shooing motion. "Take twenty minutes. Take thirty. I'll tell the staff not to bother you and I'll tell them to hide the dessert trays until Kaelith's ready for them."
Malvoria arched a brow. "And if we're gone longer?"
"Then I'll assume you're doing what newlyweds with a baby should have done long ago and finally catching up on all the fun you've been missing." Veylira's eyes sparkled with wicked delight. "Trust me. I've got Kaelith under control."
Elysia laughed, unable to resist the contagious energy. "She does, you know."
Malvoria huffed, but there was no real annoyance in her tone as she let Elysia tug her from the room.
Behind them, Kaelith's giggles rang like silver bells, and the clatter of wooden animals tumbling across the floor meant her distraction was assured for now.
