Chapter 256: Plans for the Future Part 2

The explanation lasted almost an hour, mostly because she kept interrupting to ask questions.

"I find this very hard to believe… it is a bit too much, don't you think?" she said to the others.

Of course, as a high-ranking official in the Ministry, she was well aware of James' reputation.

His encounter with that dark witch at Hogsmeade had made it clear that, despite his age, James was already a powerful wizard.

But the story she heard went far beyond this. To be able to defeat the Dark Lord and his army in such a way… was not something she could easily believe.

"You don't need to believe their words. Or even mine," James told her. "The reason for calling all of you here was not just to offer explanations about recent events."

James turned towards another door situated at the back of the small hall and opened it up. "Follow me, there is someone I want you to meet."

The four elders stood from their seats and went through the door.

It was then that Dumbledore understood why they were brought to that small hall. It was because it led directly into the back garden. What James truly wanted to show them...was here.

James' father, Fleamont, already had a chance to get familiar with all his creations, so there were no surprises for him, but Dumbledore and Pollux had never seen Ultima before, and Madam Bones' knowledge was limited to what she had just heard.

Once they were all in the open part of the grass field, James glanced upward at his tower and made a gesture with his hand. "Come down."

"Kyu!" Primum was the first one to jump from the roof of the tower and, without even bothering to flap its wings, the massive creature landed on the ground, shaking it in the process.

"A d-dragon?!" Madam Bones looked terrified as she took several steps back and went for her wand.

"Kyu?" Primum glanced with confusion at the unknown faces.

Pollux placed a hand on Amelia's shoulder. "Calm down. And be careful where you point that thing… lest you want to get hurt."

"But…" She looked in between the massive golden dragon and the others. Then noticed that no one looked even slightly concerned.

"Primum will not attack you unless you give him a reason to do so."

Madam Bones gasped when she heard an unknown voice whispering into her ear. When she turned her head around, she found a small fairy looking back at her. "What the…"

She then recalled the report from Hogsmeade. James was said to have had a small white dragon and a fairy assisting him.

"Are they… the ones from…"

"Indeed." Dumbledore confirmed her suspicions. "Nyxaris and Primum are magical constructs fabricated by James Potter. Although they may look a bit different now than whatever reports were left at the Ministry about that incident."

"Magical constructs?" Madam Bones was aware of what alchemists could do, but to create creatures like these was unprecedented, as far as she knew.

"And they are not the only ones," Dumbledore added.

Soon after, someone else jumped from the tower.

This time, it was a beautiful young girl with long blonde hair, wearing golden armor. Tertivor was wrapped around her right hand in the shape of a gauntlet, ready to transform back into its weapon shape at a moment's notice.

"This must be Ultima," Lord Pollux said. "I have heard it from Bella… she is truly impressive."

"Oh… what an incredible magical aura." Dumbledore could feel the intensity of her magic even without the use of his wand.

"Ultima?" Madam Bones glanced at the girl in front of them. She could also sense the oppressive aura emanating from her and felt shivers run through her body. "She is the one who killed the Dark Lord?"

"Master, who are they?" Ultima asked him. She already knew his father, but was not familiar with the other three.

James went on to introduce them. "The Headmaster of Hogwarts, among other titles, Albus Dumbledore."

He pointed at Pollux. "The current Lord from the House of Black, Pollux Black."

"He shares the same last name as Master's breeding mate," Ultima noted.

"Fiancée," James corrected her. "And that would be her grandfather."

"Finally," he pointed at Madam Bones, "the Director of the Auror Department."

"It's not official yet…" Amelia commented.

"Future Director then," James added.

"James, why do you want us to meet Ultima?" Dumbledore could tell that this was the whole point of this meeting, but he still didn't understand why.

James had always been extremely secretive with all his projects, not wanting others to know what he was working on or what his plans were.

"Because… along with my father, who is the head of the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes… the four of you are some of the most influential figures in the country. So you will need to be aware of her, and what her role will be in the future."

"Her role?" Dumbledore had been concerned about not knowing what James intended to do with all those creatures he was creating, but it looks like he was finally going to get an answer.

"Yes, her role." James glanced at Ultima for a moment. "What happened during this short war, and my intervention in it… to be honest, I only took action because it affected me directly, as Voldemort was a threat to those close to me. I have no idea of going around the world, taking care of every Dark Lord that pops up. That's what I created them for. They will do that."

"Hold on, what other Dark Lords? Am I missing something important here?" Madam Bones asked.

"I was merely talking about the future, Madame Bones," James said. He had tried to eliminate as many Death Eaters as he could, but there was no way for him to know what would happen in the future at this point.

Much has changed already, so it has become unpredictable.

"As uncertain as it may be… I have made some preparations," said James. "Let's talk about them."
