Chapter 28 - You Will Never Catch Me

I HAVE RETURNED... again...

So much bullshit happened that I lost my passion for quite a while. Family problems, health problems, computer AND laptop problems. I just felt like anything I did was immediately overshadowed by an event that would push my mental capacity to its absolute limits. Hopefully my life is back on track now, but I can't promise that my upload schedule will be neat and tidy. I already failed to upload for this long, though, and I refuse to leave this work unfinished, so I'll try my best to pump out some chapters for the next few weeks while I attempt to find a balance. Anyways, enough of the depressing shit. I hope you all enjoy!

As if she was a monster made flesh, the woman immediately jumped up the wall using Alexandra's sturdy car as a springboard, reaching desperately for Alex's ankle, to no avail. Alexandra, knowing she could stay no longer, backed away, turned around and immediately started climbing, a route pre-planned for ages finally coming into use.

The woman, her eyes radiating a blazing fury in an attempt to sunder the rampant emotions smothering her mind, pulled herself up the roof, just in time to watch as Alexandra clambered onto the highway above from the electrical appliance now under her feet. Strangely enough(not so much if Alexandra still worked the way she thought), a tram was passing by. Alexandra took advantage of this, grabbing onto one of its mirrors and letting it whisk her away, waving at its driver.

The woman chasing her didn't climb so much as she jumped up onto the railway's edge, not at all using the same air conditioning unit that Alexandra used to ascend, sudden desperation clouding her rational thought, and she started running towards it. The tram had never been that fast to begin with, so she started gaining on it, albeit at a slow pace.

Once the tram reached a certain point, Alexandra let go of her flimsy support, dropping down a hole below in the middle of the two tracks, right onto the electrical box above her makeshift home. Immediately, she jumps right back into the parking lot where the chase had started, her car door open, keys in the ignition. Running towards it she smiles, hearing the crashing of boots on the place she once was, her "stalker" having followed her down. Too late, though. Alexandra had already gotten in the vehicle, throwing something out the door before closing it, and was driving away, cruising down a straight line towards the end of the alley instead of taking a right halfway through as to guarantee her escape.

Reaching what used to be a toll booth at the entrance of the parking lot, the follower pulled out a phone from her back pocket, typing in a number fast as lightning, walking back over to where Alexandra had thrown something.

After waiting for about 10 seconds, once it was picked up, she didn't wait for the person on the other end to speak-

"She escaped. She hasn't lost even a bit of her touch, it seems."

She looks down at the item in her left hand; a newspaper clipping, on which writes of the dangers of stalkers, and how to avoid them.

"Much as I despise saying so, It's gonna take a lot more than just me to catch her."

She flips the newspaper around, and on its back, covering the other writings and ramblings, is boldly written words; YOU WILL NEVER CATCH ME. She clenches her fist, balling up the newspaper. While doing so, she feels what seems like an extra layer in-between. She smirks, pushing the paper into her left pocket.

"You better get a team together, Ke-"

The woman walked back to the black Rebla, where the man who came with her was waiting.

Eventually, after taking a long way around, Alexandra left her car in the place she felt it would be most safe for the time being: The Vanilla Unicorn, facing an alleyway. She got out of the car, locking it, and proceeded to fearlessly walk up to the door guard, who had seen her shamelessly set her car up for what, at least to him, seemed like an obvious escape route. Before he could speak out, though, Alexandra spoke first.

"Car's gonna be there for a bit. If it disappears, I'll know who to blame."

Even if it isn't his fault?

Gotta fuck with him somehow. Basically tradition at this point.

"And I see the way you're looking at it. Not gonna cause problems here. Left it there for a reason, one I won't be telling you. Now be a good guard dog and watch over it for a bit."

Alexandra pats him on the head and continues on her way inside.

You're becoming more unhinged by the second.

You try losing all emotions for years and suddenly gaining them back. Can barely control them anymore. It's quite annoying, honestly.

Alexandra walks to the back of the club, passing by Rosalie on the way, and sits in the very corner, taking in the atmosphere.

Ah... i hate it.

Alexandra slumps onto the table in front of her, hair sprawling out around her.

No liquor today. Don't got the money. Not after setting that up.

From what you've told me, if I understand correctly, what you've set up will anger them to an unfathomable degree. Will you really go through with it?

Alexandra turns her head, looking at the people wandering around the club, before turning it back.

I'm gonna need all the help I can get. Poaching one of their best seems like a good start.

Even if it may backfire?

She opened her eyes, watching the entrance hall of the strip club with patience.

It won't.
