Early morning, Han Yu and two engineers from the Binjiang City Water Resources Bureau rushed to Dongqi Port by car.
Dongqi Port, like Bailong Port, is a passenger pier with a history almost as long. However, Dongqi port is not located in Dongqi District, it was originally in Beixin Town of Dongqi, but due to sediment accumulation in the waterway, it had to be relocated to Huifeng Town.
Dongqi is the easternmost county-level city in Binjiang and even in Jiangnan Province. Although, like Linghai, it faces Zhuangming County of East Sea City across the river, its transportation is extremely inconvenient.
Linghai has at least two car ferries and Bailong Port Passenger Pier. Dongqi has no car ferries, and long-distance buses from Dongqi have to go west to Zhuangling car ferry in Linghai to cross the river.
From this, one can see how important Dongqi Port, located in Huifeng Town, is to Dongqi.
