Mr. Gabriel and Mrs. Charlotte let out a collective sigh of relief as they realized the meeting with the Rodriguez family had come to a close.
"It went well, I suppose," Mr. Gabriel said, his voice laced with a mix of relief and amusement.
"Indeed," Mrs. Charlotte replied, her eyes sparkling with warmth. "And I think Cassandra is quite taken with Santiano."
Mr. Gabriel chuckled. "I think you're reading too much into it, my dear. She's just being polite."
Just then, a knock on the door interrupted their conversation. "Come in," Mrs. Charlotte called out.
A servant entered the room, looking slightly nervous. "Good morning, ma'am and sir. I hope everything is okay?"
Mr. Gabriel's expression turned questioning. "Is everything alright? You look a bit flustered."
The servant hesitated before speaking. "I just wanted to confirm what time we should start preparing the food for today's visit."
Mr. Gabriel's face went blank, and he exchanged a confused glance with his wife. "Visit?" he repeated.
The servant nodded. "Yes, sir. You told us the Rodriguez family was coming over today."
Mr. Gabriel's expression transformed from confusion to realization. "Ah, yes! I almost forgot. Cassandra, your future husband is coming over today, so get ready," he called out, already heading out of the room with the servant.
Mrs. Charlotte smiled and followed him. "I'll make sure everything is taken care of."
In the kitchen, Mr. Gabriel handed the head chef a wad of cash. "Take this and get everything we need to prepare a wonderful meal. And don't worry about the cost, just make sure everything is perfect."
The chef's eyes widened at the amount of money. "Sir, this is a lot..."
Mr. Gabriel smiled. "You can share the change with the others. Just make sure nothing goes wrong today."
The chef nodded, his face set in a determined expression. "I'll do my best, sir."
Mr. Gabriel nodded and walked out of the kitchen, feeling a sense of anticipation building in his chest. This was going to be an interesting day.
